Chinese automaker BYD intensified its commercial offensive in the Brasil by applying a strategic restructuring to the Song Pro hybrid SUV line. The measure combines a cut in table values with the introduction of semi-autonomous driving features in the most complete version, aiming to increase competitiveness against direct rivals in the medium utility vehicle segment and consolidate the brand’s leadership among electrified vehicles.
New values and standard equipment
The changes position the model aggressively in the national market, with the entry-level GL version now costing R$189,990 and the top-of-the-line GS configuration set at R$199,990. The adjustment represents a decrease of R$4,810 in relation to previously charged prices, a movement that occurs simultaneously with the brand’s preparations to start local production in its new industrial unit at Bahia.

The competitive advantage of the GS version was expanded with the inclusion of the level 2 Adas package, which was previously not available on the vehicle. The technological update responds to growing consumer demand for active safety and puts the SUV on par with competitors that already offered these assistants, such as the Toyota Corolla Cross and Jeep Compass.
Assistive and comfort technology
The introduction of the advanced driver assistance system transforms the driving experience on the highway and in urban traffic. The technological package now integrated into the more expensive version includes the adaptive cruise control (ACC), capable of maintaining a safe distance from the vehicle in front, and the lane keeping assistant (LKA), which acts on the steering to prevent unintentional departures from the lane. Outros Vital safety features include autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and rear cross-traffic alert. Internamente, the model maintains the 12.8-inch rotating screen with full connectivity, as well as a PM2.5 air filtration system, ensuring a healthier environment for occupants.
Hybrid powertrain and autonomy
The mechanical package remains focused on the efficiency of the plug-in system, combining a 1.5 gasoline engine with 98 hp and an electric drive. The combined power delivers 223 hp in the GL option and rises to 235 hp in the GS, allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in around 8 seconds, impressive numbers for a family vehicle.
Houve an update on electrical range data according to the new Inmetro measurements for the Brazilian market. The 12.9 kWh battery in the entry-level version now projects 39 km of pure electric range, while the 18.3 kWh package in the top version offers 62 km without using fuel, keeping the total combined range above 1,000 km.
Recharging the Blade batteries can be carried out in approximately two or three hours, depending on the version, using alternating current chargers of up to 6.6 kW. Essa flexibility reinforces the car’s proposal as a transition solution to electric mobility.
Industrial perspectives on Nordeste
The scenario for BYD in Brasil involves the consolidation of its factory in Camaçari, which has already begun the testing phases for vehicle assembly. The nationalization of production is seen as a crucial step to shield the operation against exchange rate variations and import logistics costs.
The Bahian plant should accelerate the delivery of units and allow for future adaptations, such as the development of flex hybrid engines. Enquanto large-scale production does not materialize, the pricing and equipment strategy serves to maintain sales growth and customer loyalty.
