Playground Games has made official the technical specifications and setting of its next open-world racing title, confirming the setting in the Japanese archipelago. The developer set May 19 as the global debut date and highlighted that the planned visual fidelity, which ranges from the urban density of Tóquio-inspired metropolises to the winding mountain roads, will require modern hardware. The update to the Steam digital store page served as the ultimate validation for the rumors circulating about the Asian location.

To guarantee the experience intended by the studio, the use of solid state storage units (SSD) will be mandatory, aiming to ensure fluid transitions between different regions of the map and eliminate loading screens. The focus on optimization covers a wide range of configurations, allowing scalability between entry-level machines and high-performance computers, but with clear requirements to maintain immersion.

Hardware compatibility and system requirements

One of the main new features in the technical documentation is native support for Intel graphics processing units, including recent models aimed at mobility. The compatibility list specifically mentions the Arc A380 and the future Arc B390 architectures, part of the Panther Lake line, signaling an effort to make the simulator accessible on ultra-thin notebooks and modern portable devices.

To ensure proper functioning, users must comply with the minimum requirements published by the development team. It is necessary to have the operating system Windows 10 (version 22H2) or higher and processors equivalent to Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD

The title will hit the market with full integration with image upscaling technologies, such as NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR and Intel XeSS. The latest version of XeSS3 has been cited as an essential tool for extracting performance from Intel’s new cards, allowing gamers to fine-tune the balance between frame rate and native resolution based on the capabilities of their monitors.

Real estate exploration and management mechanics

Unlike previous editions set in México or Grã-Britain, the progression structure puts the player in the role of an ordinary tourist arriving in Japão. Essa narrative approach allows for a gradual introduction to local customs and street aesthetics, with character-driven interactions that explain the region’s automotive and cultural traditions. The design team undertook on-site research expeditions to capture specific details such as the layout of overhead electrical wiring and distinctive rural architecture.

The gameplay introduces “Coleção’s Diary”, a mechanic inspired by the Japanese habit of collecting stamps and travel records, which will serve as the main engine for level advancement. Outra significant addition is the property management system, based on the phenomenon of “Akiya”, the abandoned rural houses in Japão. Players will be able to purchase these lands and use the credits obtained in competitions to renovate the spaces and build personalized structures.

Release schedule and platforms

The launch will follow a staggered model, where Edição Premium buyers will have early access starting May 15, four days before the general debut. The title will be available simultaneously on Xbox Series

The developer also confirmed that a version for PlayStation 5 is in production, scheduled for release in the second half of 2026. The strategy reflects Microsoft’s new distribution guideline, seeking to expand the reach of its main franchises to other console ecosystems after a period of temporary exclusivity at launch.
