Developer Playground Games has officially released the technical specifications and setting for its next big open-world racing title, confirming long-standing rumors about the Japanese archipelago setting. The studio has set May 19 as the global release date, promising a visually stunning recreation that ranges from the Tóquio-inspired urban density to the region’s winding mountain roads. Para achieves the planned level of graphical fidelity, the company has emphasized that the use of modern hardware will be mandatory for the desktop experience.
The official Steam store page has been updated with the final requirements, indicating that the game has been optimized to take advantage of the latest processing and rendering technologies. The development team seeks to deliver seamless immersion, requiring components that support fast texture loading and the complexity of the new Asian map.

Hardware requirements and partnership with Intel
To ensure fluid transition between different regions of the map and eliminate loading screens, the use of a solid state drive (SSD) has become a mandatory requirement in the minimum and recommended specifications. The game’s architecture relies on the data transfer speed that only SSDs offer, allowing the graphics engine to render detailed environments at high speed without compromising performance. Além of fast storage, players will need processors equivalent to the Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600, along with 16 GB of RAM and the Windows 10 operating system version 22H2 or higher.
One of the great technical innovations is the close collaboration with Intel, aiming at optimization for the graphic processing units of the Arc line. The title will offer native support for XeSS 3 technology in its latest version, designed to extract maximum performance from new cards, including the future Panther Lake series and models such as the Arc B390. The game will also be compatible with other upscaling technologies on the market, such as NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR, in addition to offering full support for Ray Tracing via DirectX 12.
Cultural exploitation and property system
The gameplay of this new chapter introduces new mechanics focused on Japanese culture and tourism, differentiating itself from previous editions of the franchise. Players will act as automotive tourists, participating in a stamp collection activity inspired by the traditional “Goshuin” found in temples and historical sites in Japão. Esta narrative approach encourages organic exploration of the map, rewarding the discovery of geographic and cultural landmarks with customization items and campaign progress.
Another significant feature is the implementation of the “Akiya” system, a term used to describe abandoned houses in Japão. Drivers will be able to purchase these empty properties spread across the map using credits obtained in races. Após the purchase, it will be possible to renovate the spaces and transform them into personalized garages or strategic hideouts, allowing for more immersive and decentralized fleet management around the open world.
Release schedule and platforms
Access to the game will be staggered, with Edição Premium buyers being allowed to play starting May 15th, four days before the official launch. The title will be available simultaneously for Xbox Series X|S and PC, through Microsoft Store and Steam, integrating the Game Pass service catalog on the first day. Cloud save support and cross-buy functionality across Microsoft ecosystem platforms have also been confirmed.
In a strategic move that reflects the new guidelines of Microsoft, a version for PlayStation 5 is in development and is expected to arrive in the second half of 2026. The expansion for the competitor’s console aims to expand the player base and maximize the reach of the main franchises, while maintaining a temporary exclusivity window for the original platforms of the Xbox brand.
