Nvidia introduced the Spark RTX chip during Computex, in Taiwan. The announcement took place at the opening of the event and brought a new processor designed for Windows laptops and desktops with a focus on local artificial intelligence. The company’s shares rose 6.2% after the market closed at Estados Unidos. The movement marked the best daily performance since February.

Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, led the demonstration on stage. Ele showed a slim laptop equipped with the chip running games like the 007 First Light and Forza Horizon 6. It then revealed a compact desktop, about the size of an Mac mini, also with the RTX Spark. The company highlighted the integration of CPU and GPU in a single package as the big differentiator.

RTX Spark combines CPU and GPU on its own platform

The RTX Spark combines a 20-core CPU developed in partnership with MediaTek and a GPU based on the Blackwell architecture. The design allows for up to 128 GB of unified memory and high performance in AI tasks. Diferente from previous Nvidia chips for PCs, which depended on Intel or AMD processors, this model integrates everything internally.

The platform targets the premium segment. Fabricantes as Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft and MSI will produce the first models. Nvidia did not disclose exact prices, but indicated that the equipment will be in the upper range of the market. Launches begin in the autumn of the northern hemisphere, which corresponds to the period between September and November.

  • Laptops thin up to 14 millimeters thick
  • Desktops compacts for home and creative use
  • Suporte at up to 1 petaflop of AI compute
  • Integração with Windows for on-premises AI agents
  • Compatibilidade with games and productivity software

Collaboration with Microsoft includes optimizations for the operating system. The focus is on running AI agents directly on the device, without relying exclusively on the cloud. Huang compared the evolution of the PC to what happened with smartphones, which were no longer just phones.

Demonstrações highlights gaming and productivity

Durante the keynote, Jensen Huang ran recent games on the Spark RTX laptop. The presentation included AAA titles and showed good performance even on compact hardware. The company also showcased integration with Adobe Photoshop and other authoring tools.

The chip inherits technologies from the RTX line, such as DLSS and Reflex. Isso should benefit gamers looking for high frame rates on thin laptops. Nvidia also mentioned improved support for x86 application emulation in the Windows on Arm environment.

The RTX Spark represents the Nvidia’s most ambitious entry into the consumer PC market in decades. The company already dominates the dedicated GPU segment, but now offers a complete processor solution.

Concorrentes react on the stock market

Após the announcement, Nvidia shares registered a sharp rise. Enquanto this, shares of rivals like Qualcomm fell. Analistas point out that the RTX Spark can directly compete with platforms like Snapdragon X on AI PCs.

Intel and AMD also felt a negative impact on their prices. The move reflects concern about the entry of a powerful new player into the CPU market for Windows.

Nvidia plans at least two more generations of Spark. The next one should use Vera Rubin architecture, and the next one, Rosa Feynman. The roadmaps indicate continued investment in PCs with AI.

What changes for the end user

The RTX Spark seeks to transform the PC into a “companion” with local AI agent. Huang mentioned the possibility of AI supercomputers in the home, similar to common household appliances. The vision includes PCs that perform complex tasks autonomously.

The first equipment should arrive in stores in 2026. The expectation is that models of different sizes and prices will appear over the following months. Fabricantes industry traditionalists support the project, which facilitates adoption.

Especialistas track real performance in independent tests. Questões like laptop battery life and broad software compatibility still need full evaluation.

Detalhes new chip technicians

The superchip includes Blackwell GPU with 6,144 CUDA cores. The connection between CPU and GPU uses NVLink-C2C for high bandwidth. The manufacturing process is 3 nanometers by TSMC.

Nvidia highlighted enhanced security for AI agents. The system has new primitives from Windows and the company’s own tools. Isso aims to protect locally processed data.

The launch reinforces Nvidia’s strategy of expanding beyond data centers. The market for PCs with AI is growing rapidly, and the company wants to position its technology as a reference.

The RTX Spark arrives at a time of transition to the Windows on Arm. With support from major manufacturers and a focus on AI, the platform has the potential to gain traction among content creators, developers and gamers.
