The Curaçao team arrived in Florida with a special moment that soon went viral. One of the flight’s pilots got off with the athletes and started dancing with Victor Garcia, a member of the delegation, while another crew member held out the country’s flag.

The “Blue Wave”, as the team is known, arrived in Florida on Monday (8) to debut in the tournament. Upon disembarking, one of the pilots also extended the flag of the country of around 160,000 inhabitants, the smallest to participate in a World Cup. The players’ enthusiasm infected the crew.

After the plane trip, the group led by Dutch coach Dick Advocaat went to a hotel in Boca Raton. The choice of location was not random and considered the climate similar to that of the Caribbean island, which helps the team adapt.

Curaçao is part of Group E, alongside Germany, Ivory Coast and Ecuador. The debut takes place on June 14th, against the Germans, in Houston. The second game is scheduled for the 20th, against Ecuador, in Kansas City. The last match of the group stage will be on the 25th, against Ivory Coast, in Philadelphia.
