Real Valladolid announced this Tuesday (9) the contract renewals of Mathis Lachuer, Lucas Sanseviero and Clément Michelin. The three players remain in the Whites squad for the 2026/27 season, in the Spanish Second Division.
The club, which will compete in LaLiga Hypermotion under the command of Fran Escribá, reinforces the squad with the presence of athletes who already know the environment at the José Zorrilla Stadium. The renovations take place while the sports management, led by Víctor Orta, finalizes the planning for the new campaign.
Mathis Lachuer, a 25-year-old French midfielder, arrived at Valladolid last summer. He played 23 games last season, starting 11, and has accumulated around a thousand minutes on the field. His performance evolved throughout the competition, becoming a reliable option in midfield.
Lucas Sanseviero, Uruguayan winger, arrived at the winter market from the Danube. The 25-year-old played in 11 games, starting three, and scored an important goal against Real Sociedad B. His new contract runs until June 2029.
Clément Michelin, French right-back, arrived on loan from Racing Santander in January. Valladolid exercised the free purchase option and kept him in the squad until 2028. He played in nine matches, with six starts.
Continuity to provide stability to the cast
These renewals reflect Real Valladolid’s strategy of keeping players already adapted to the club instead of promoting an immediate major overhaul. With a squad that already exceeds the mark of 30 athletes, the club is looking for stability in key positions while moving forward with other signings.
Lachuer and Sanseviero get three more seasons on their contracts, while Michelin receives a two-year extension after the purchase. The trio brings recent experience in the second division and should help in the search for a more solid return to the Spanish football elite.
Real Valladolid starts pre-season in July with a large group. The stays contribute to giving rhythm to coach Fran Escribá’s initial work and maintain the focus on building a competitive team.
