Nintendo announced this Tuesday (9) the launch ofDerby Stallion 2for the Nintendo Switch 2. The new chapter in the horse breeding and racing simulation series arrives on September 24, 2026.
The game allows, for the first time in the franchise, to participate in local regional races and also challenge G1 races on the American circuit. Developer Land Ho, with long experience in the genre, is responsible for the title.
The look has been completely overhauled. Instead of traditional photorealism, the production adopts the “3D Cel Look” style, which balances clarity and realism to make the races more exciting and easier to follow.
The Derby Stallion series has existed since 1991 and has accumulated millions of copies sold in Japan over more than three decades, mixing stud management simulation with breeder management and competitions. The franchise’s last major release for current consoles was in 2020 for the original Switch.
The pre-sale ofDerby Stallion 2starts soon on the My Nintendo Store. The announcement came during the Nintendo Direct broadcast on June 9, 2026, which highlighted several titles for the Switch 2.
