Nintendo Direct June 2026 reveals remake of Ocarina of Time and Kingdom Hearts 4 for Switch 2

Nintendo Direct in June 2026 presented a sequence of important announcements, notable surprises and the guarantee that Switch 2 owners will have a busy second half of the year with new features.

The biggest highlight came at the end of the presentation, when Nintendo confirmed the remake of Ocarina of Time, a title that had already generated a lot of speculation. The preview showed a brief image of Link sleeping in his cabin, which left fans eager for more details. Everyone knows what comes next in the classic story.

But that wasn’t the only relevant announcement at the event. Kingdom Hearts 4 became a reality after a surprise showing from Nintendo that featured gameplay snippets. There is no set release date yet, but the title will arrive on Switch 2 on the same day it becomes available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox on PC, Epic Games Store and Steam.

Also from Square Enix, Final Fantasy Resonance emerged as an unexpected revelation, scheduled for release in October. There was also a fun snippet of gameplay from “Thumb War” on Nintendo Switch Sports Resort. And we can’t forget the new game in the Xenoblade series, called Xenoblade Genesis, scheduled for 2027.

Remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Nintendo closed Nintendo Direct with confirmation of the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, scheduled for sometime in 2026. The preview showed Link sleeping in his cabin. Nintendo promised more details soon. We can’t wait. Here’s the official text: “The Nintendo 64 classic returns for a new generation in 2026, reborn exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2!”

Kingdom Hearts 4

It’s real and it’s finally here. Kingdom Hearts 4 has been revealed after years of waiting. Unfortunately, there is no release date yet, but the game will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. What a surprise!

Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III]

The Complete Kingdom Hearts [I~III] Collection arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 8th. You can play the Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind demo today.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2

Saber Interactive’s fantastic Warhammer 40,000 action game, Space Marine 2, is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. The release is scheduled for the end of the year, according to Focus Entertainment, the game’s publisher.

minecraft

A dedicated version of Minecraft for Nintendo Switch 2 is on the way. Expect better graphics and improved lighting and shadow effects. Your Switch worlds will carry over. The launch is scheduled for this year.

Splatoon Invaders

We got a new glimpse at the Splatoon Raiders single-player mode, set to release on July 23rd. There will be a Splatoon Raiders Direct presentation on June 30th where we will learn much more.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World

Explore, train, and synthesize monsters to discover your new favorite companion in Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World, launching December 3 on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.

The Twilightbloods

FromSoftware’s multiplayer action game The Duskbloods appeared at Nintendo Direct, as expected, with news that a closed network test will launch this summer. But we still don’t have a release date, although Nintendo continues to say that The Duskbloods will be released exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.

Final Fantasy Resonance

Final Fantasy Resonance is an all-new high-definition 2D turn-based RPG from Square Enix, set to release on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 22, 2026.

Free Star Fox Demo

Star Fox gets a free demo today. The full game will be released for Nintendo Switch 2 on June 25th. Check out the new gameplay video below:

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort

Sports are on the way. Nintendo Switch Sports Resort includes several minigames, including Thumb Fight. It launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on October 22nd. Here is the official text from Nintendo:

Return to Wuhu Island with Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, a new entry in the series coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch 2. Create a Mii character or sports companion and jump into action with intuitive motion controls that use the Joy-Con 2 controllers in a variety of ways — such as rackets, bows, and even handlebars — in 12 sports modes. Team up with friends and family, challenge them, or play solo in new and classic sports like Boxing, Table Tennis, Archery, Tennis, Volleyball, Bowling, Basketball, Golf, and Thumb Wrestling — and leisure sports like Skateboarding (using the Joy-Con 2 controllers), Power Cruising, and Propeller Flying. You can also warm up with Jump Rope. The games arrive on Nintendo Switch Sports Resort for Nintendo Switch 2 on October 22nd. Pre-orders begin today on the Nintendo eShop.

Xenoblade Genesis

Nintendo has announced a new game in the Xenoblade franchise. It’s called Xenoblade Genesis and will be released for the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.

Xenoblade Chronicles Nintendo Switch 2 Editions

Games in the Xenoblade Chronicles series will receive editions for Nintendo Switch 2. Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and its update pack are now available. Additionally, Nintendo Switch 2 digital editions of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will be available on July 30 and December 3, respectively.

Great walk

From the creators of Untitled Goose Game comes Big Walk, a cooperative multiplayer adventure about teamwork and communication. Big Walk will be released for Nintendo Switch on August 4th.

Devil May Cry 5

Devil May Cry 5 arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 23rd. Immerse yourself in the signature 60fps action of Devil May Cry in both TV and handheld mode with Nero, Dante, V and Vergil when Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition arrives on Nintendo Switch 2.

Lies of P: Complete Edition will be released for Nintendo Switch 2 on August 6th.

Lords of the Fallen 2 will be released for Nintendo Switch 2 this fall.

Donkey Kong Bananza DLC

Nintendo announced the Donkey Kong Bananza DLC, which includes Mario-inspired clothing. For a limited time, exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2, you can take on challenges in Donkey Kong Bananza and other selected titles from the Donkey Kong Nintendo Classics series through Nintendo Switch Online. Additionally, in the paid DLC Donkey Kong Bananza: DK Island & Emerald Rush, a limited-time collaboration with Super Mario Bros. will be available. This limited-time collaboration event will be held in four phases, with the first starting today.

DELTARUNE Chapter 5

A fun and exciting new adventure from the creator of UNDERTALE, DELTARUNE Chapter 5 invites you to dive into the latest chapter in the UNDERTALE side story. DELTARUNE Chapter 5 will be released for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch as a free update to DELTARUNE on June 24th.

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave

We got a new trailer for Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave and finally a release date: September 17th. One more game in September.

Pokemon Pokopia DLC

In August, Nintendo announced a free update for Pokémon Pokopia that adds a new move: Diving. The Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass is now available for purchase. Part 1: Bubbling Basin is scheduled for release in August.

One Piece: Grand Gourmet

Here’s a surprise announcement. The all-new management simulation game One Piece: Grand Gourmet will be released on October 23, 2026 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam, App Store and Google Play. Here is the official description:

Welcome aboard Baratie Number 2, where players join the Straw Hat crew to build and run their first charming restaurant. Starting with a modest ship, players will collect ingredients, prepare creative dishes, and design a welcoming space to transform their restaurant into the most renowned culinary destination on the seas. Familiar faces from the One Piece universe will visit as customers, each bringing their own tastes. Players will encounter over 400 characters appearing for the first time in a vibrant pixel art style. From beloved members of the Straw Hat crew to iconic figures from across the series, each character can interact, work and dine at the restaurant, unlocking unique events and special moments.

Legends Rayman Retold

Ubisoft will release Rayman Legends Retold for Nintendo Switch 2 on October 1st.

Orbitals

The promising two-player co-op adventure game Orbitals will launch exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on September 3rd.

Starblade

Stellar Blade will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2. Shift Up announced the sequel at Summer Game Fest, but we now know that the first game will be released for Switch 2 sometime in 2026.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen

Dragon’s Dogma 2 will receive an expansion. The surprise announcement at Nintendo Direct revealed Dark Arisen, the same name as the first game’s popular expansion. It is scheduled to release on October 9th for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. It will be available in a bundle or as a separate expansion DLC for existing platforms.

Onimusha: The Way of the Sword

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is coming to Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo has revealed new images of the combat system of Capcom’s highly anticipated action game. The launch is scheduled for September 25, 2026.

Rhythm of Heaven Groove

The Nintendo Direct kicked off with a preview of Rhythm Heaven Groove, which will be released for Switch on July 2, 2026. The game includes over 80 new rhythm games, plus many more to unlock. Up to four players can participate in more than 30 multiplayer games.
