The National Identity Card (CIN) can be requested without scheduling at Vapt Vupt branches in Goiás. The facility is valid for specific cases and helps reduce queues and waiting for appointments in the system.
Larissa Dourado, from the Record Goiás channel, detailed the situations in which citizens can use the service without needing to set a date and time in advance. The measure makes life easier for those who need a second copy or face proven urgency.
One of the options is emergency assistance. It is available in all Vapt Vupt units that have a Public Security Secretariat post. To do this, you must prove the need for the document within 30 days, such as for public exams, school registration, job vacancy, travel, exams or surgeries, opening a bank account or applying for a passport.
How the simplified application works
Another way is digitally. Anyone who has a National Identity Card or ID issued in Goiás in the last five years, without changing their marital status and with CPF included, can request a duplicate via the Expresso app. After filling in the details and paying the fee (when applicable), simply choose the unit for pick-up and show up without an appointment.
The first copy of the CIN continues to require an appointment in most cases, especially for those who have never had the document or need to update data. The second copy costs R$42.20, while the first is free.
What changes in practice for the citizen of Goiás
This flexibility reduces pressure on the scheduling system, which in some periods can require waiting periods of weeks or months. The state government seeks to expand access to the document, which serves as identification throughout the national territory and gradually replaces the old ID.
Delivery time varies depending on the unit: up to 20 working days in the capital and interior, under normal conditions.
