Apple announced during WWDC26 that paying iCloud+ users will have expanded access to Apple Intelligence features, including more generous daily limits for functions that rely on server processing, such as imaging.
Many of the new artificial intelligence features announced at the conference will have daily usage restrictions for all users. The company did not detail the exact numbers, but confirmed that most paid iCloud+ plans offer higher limits, leaving the basic plan out of extra benefits.
What’s new in the Home app for smart homes
In addition to the expanded limits, iCloud+ subscribers will receive exclusive features in the Casa (Home) app. Compatible home cameras now support 4K resolution. Apple Intelligence integration also comes to HomeKit Secure Video, enabling more advanced analysis of security images and videos.
These updates transform the Casa app into a smarter platform, with automatic scene descriptions, improved search for recordings and consolidation of notifications from multiple cameras into single alerts.
What changes in practice for the user
AI capabilities that run in the cloud, such as advanced imaging or complex analytics, rely on powerful models on servers. Without iCloud+, the average user can quickly run into daily limits. With the subscription, access expands, which is relevant for those who intend to use Apple Intelligence intensively on a daily basis.
In Brazil, iCloud+ plans maintain recent values: 50 GB for R$5.90; 200 GB for R$19.90; 2 TB for R$66.90; 6 TB for R$ 199.90; and 12 TB for R$399.90. Apple One options also combine storage with other services.
This Apple strategy reinforces the recurring subscription model, aligning with the trend in the AI market, where services such as Google and OpenAI also charge for more intense use. Integration with the HomeKit ecosystem can encourage adoption of compatible devices such as cameras and smart locks.
The news should arrive with iOS 27 and corresponding updates in 2026.
