The Brazilian team debuts in the 2026 World Cup next Saturday, June 13, against Morocco. The game is scheduled for 7 pm (Brasília time) at MetLife Stadium, in New Jersey.
Group C still includes Haiti and Scotland. Right after Brazil’s duel, the two teams will face each other at 10pm on the same day. Canarinho is looking for sixth place in an unprecedented tournament with 48 teams.
Expanded format demands more games
This will be the first World Cup with 48 teams, divided into 12 groups of four. The top two in each group and the eight best third-placed teams advance, creating a round of 32 round. In total, there will be 104 matches played in 16 host cities in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
If Brazil reaches the final, it will play up to eight games. If they finish first in Group C, they will face the second placed team in Group F (Netherlands, Japan, Sweden or Tunisia) in the next stage. Second, take the leader of the same group. An unlikely third place would lead to a clash against one of the leaders of Groups E, I or A.
Group stage schedule
The second Brazilian match will be on Friday, June 19, against Haiti, at 9:30 pm, at Lincoln Financial Field, in Philadelphia. The third and final of the group takes place on Wednesday, June 24, against Scotland, at 7pm, at Hard Rock Stadium, in Miami.
