Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the signing of Argentine defender Marcos Senesi. The 29-year-old defender arrives as a free agent after the end of his contract with Bournemouth and signs a four-year contract, valid until June 2030. It should become official from July 1st, after international release.

Senesi played in all 37 Premier League matches of the 2025/26 season for Bournemouth, contributing five assists. The player stood out especially in long passes, interceptions, blocks and tackles, ranking among the best defenders in these aspects in the English league.

Born on May 10, 1997, the left-footed central defender is 1.84m tall and stands out for his good reading of the game, precise ball release and projection in attack. He has solid experience in the Premier League, with more than 116 games for Bournemouth since 2022, as well as a remarkable spell at Feyenoord, where he played in European competitions.

Senesi’s arrival represents Tottenham’s second free signing this summer, following left-back Andy Robertson, who also left Liverpool. The move reinforces the defense under the technical command of Roberto De Zerbi, who prioritizes players with technical quality to build plays from behind.

For the Argentine national team, Senesi has played three matches, but was left out of the final list for the 2026 World Cup. Despite his absence from the tournament, his consistency in English football keeps alive the expectation of new call-ups in the future.

The defender arrives in good physical and tactical form. His ability to play as a left or central defender offers important tactical options for the London squad, which seeks more defensive balance combined with game construction.
