A young German woman who disappeared more than ten years ago was identified in the Epstein Files, the recently released documents about the case of American financier Jeffrey Epstein. Michele was 22 years old when she disappeared in September 2015, after leaving her mother’s house with a suitcase. To this day there is no trace of her.
Joint research of the ZDF program “Die Spur”, with the newspaper Der Spiegel and paper trail media revealed that Michele was offered to Epstein by a modelscout called Daniel Siad. Emails from the archives show Siad sending photos of her and praising: “She is a girl I know very well, wonderful person. You will love her.”
The parents, Annett and Vlado, have lived without answers ever since. The family reported the disappearance in October 2015, but the police found no evidence of crime and the active search made no progress. Only now, with the discovery in American archives, does the case gain new momentum.
Modelscout Daniel Siad at the center of suspicion
Daniel Siad appears hundreds of times in the Epstein Files. He is being investigated in France on charges of rape and human trafficking — five women have already filed complaints. Siad denies the accusations and claims to have no knowledge of Epstein’s abuse scheme. Neither he nor his lawyer responded to contacts from the reporting team.
Michele dreamed of being a model. The mother remembers that her daughter met Siad at a nightclub in Dubai, where he introduced himself as a scout and offered to take photos. Father Vlado says he heard a tense call shortly before the disappearance, in which Siad seemed to berate the young girl.
What the files reveal about the recruitment system
Siad’s messages to Epstein follow a pattern identified in other contacts: young women are described as “merchandise” and offered promises of a career in the world of fashion. In one of the excerpts, he mentions having sent girls from several countries, including a 15-year-old whose parents were “happy” with the modeling opportunity.
The discovery links the Michele case directly to the functioning of Epstein’s circle, which used the modeling and escort industry to attract victims. The family confirmed to the report that Michele had spoken about an escort service operated by Siad.
Police investigation could change course
Until the beginning of this year, German police were not planning a public search due to a lack of new clues. Now, the prosecution must evaluate the opening of a formal investigation. Parliamentarians, such as deputy Konstantin von Notz, demand greater speed in investigations into German connections in the Epstein Files.
The international report crossed data from leaks, facial recognition tools and cell phone forensic analysis, but did not locate Michele after 2015. The parents hope that the new visibility will bring information that will clarify their daughter’s fate.
