A video recorded by members of the AABB Marília club captures the moment of panic when a small plane crashed into a football field next to the swimming pool area, in the east of the city, this Wednesday (10). The accident occurred around noon.

In the images, you can hear the noise of the engine and then the impact. A person runs from the pool towards the lawn while narrating what he saw. “The plane just crashed here. We were coming to swim here, with Marília’s medical staff. We were hearing the noise of the plane and out of nowhere ‘pah’. My God!”, says the man in the recording.

The twin-engine Beechcraft 58, registration PT-MDB, had taken off a few minutes before from Marília Airport, about a kilometer from the crash site. The aircraft caught fire after impact.

Three pilots on board during flight test

The fatal victims were identified as Henrique Guariente and Gabriel Maloni. The two died at the scene. A third person, identified as Pablo, was rescued alive by clubgoers and taken to Hospital das Clínicas de Marília.

According to the Fire Department, AABB members helped with the initial rescue of the survivor before the official teams arrived. Images show firefighters fighting the flames on the plane.

What is known so far about the causes

The aircraft was carrying out a test flight. The causes of the accident are still unknown and will be investigated by Cenipa (Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Center). So far, there is no information about mechanical failures or adverse weather conditions.
