Sony has revealed the main additions to the PlayStation Plus games catalog for June 2026, withFinal Fantasy XVIas the main highlight. Square Enix’s action RPG will be available to Extra and Premium subscribers starting June 16th in all markets.
The title marks the entry of one of the most ambitious games in the Final Fantasy series on the subscription service. Developed with real-time combat, it abandons the traditional turn-based system and follows Clive Rosfield’s journey into a dark fantasy world marked by conflict and powerful Eikons. For many gamers, it represents an affordable gateway into a high-budget production that would otherwise require individual purchase.
Sonic X Shadow Generations now available in some countries
Starting this Wednesday (June 11 in Japan), subscribers in the United States and United Kingdom can now playSonic X Shadow Generations(PS4 and PS5). The title combines a new campaign with Shadow and a complete remaster of Sonic Generations, bringing updated 2D and 3D stages. In the rest of the world, full access arrives alongside the other games on June 16th.
More RPGs and simulators on the calendar
Sony adopted a different strategy this month, releasing games gradually in some markets.
- Kingdom Come: Deliverance(PS4 and PS5) arrives on June 23 in the US, UK and Japan. The medieval open-world RPG, known for its historical realism, also recently gained space on Game Pass.
- In the same period,Life is Strange: Double Exposure(PS5) will be available.
- On June 30th, they enterFarming Simulator 25, Blades of Fire e Black Desert(all for PS5).
For Premium subscribers, there is alsoGitaroo Man, the PS2 rhythm classic, available on June 16th on PS4 and PS5 versions.
What changes for subscribers
The inclusion of Final Fantasy XVI and Kingdom Come: Deliverance reinforces the catalog with large-scale productions that normally cost full price. Unlike previous months, the staggering of dates allows players in select regions to experience some of the content earlier. This can help maintain engagement throughout the month, especially after the recent addition of the Destiny 2 compilation.
Those looking for more traditional Final Fantasy experiences will have to waitFinal Fantasy Resonance, the first HD-2D game in the series, due out in October.
The complete June catalog caters to different profiles: fans of epic action, narrative adventures, simulation and rhythm.
