Apple announced Tap to Share, a new feature in iOS 27 that expands Tap to Pay on iPhone and allows customers to securely share information with a simple tap on iPhones at participating merchants.

With the new feature, users will be able to exchange data such as delivery address, email, telephone number and loyalty program information directly via NFC. This makes the checkout process in physical stores faster and more personalized, without the need to fill out forms or enter data repeatedly.

In addition to sharing, customers can view the items in the basket in real time during the purchase. The function helps you check discounts, prices and the total before finalizing the payment with Apple Pay, reducing errors at the checkout.

Tap to Share integrates with the Apple Pay ecosystem and should arrive with iOS 27 in fall 2026 (spring in Brazil). It requires an iPhone compatible with the Tap to Pay feature, generally models from iPhone XS or newer, depending on country implementation.

The initiative reinforces Apple’s strategy of transforming the iPhone into a complete payments and services tool, competing directly with portable machine solutions used by small merchants, stallholders and local establishments.
