Xiaomi announced two new functions for the rear screen of the Xiaomi 17 Pro line in China. The update expands the use of the secondary display with features aimed at sports and smart home.
The first new feature is the Live Bar APP, developed in partnership with Zhibo8. The feature displays scores of important matches in real time directly on the rear panel of the smartphone.
This role comes at a strategic time, with the 2026 World Cup starting this Thursday (11). Fans can follow results without interrupting live broadcasts or switching between applications, maintaining focus on the main screen.
The second update is Mijia Camera. It allows you to view the camera feed from the Mi Home ecosystem directly on the rear screen, making it easier to monitor children, pets or home environments at any time.
To preserve privacy, the feature requires facial recognition authentication when activated. Only the main user can access the images without unlocking the main device.
Xiaomi confirmed on Weibo that the two functions will be available by mid-June for users in China. The company has not yet detailed an expansion schedule for other markets.
