A report published by Veja magazine, last Thursday (June 11, 2026), accuses the president of the Federal Senate, Davi Alcolumbre (União Brasil-AP), of having received US$30 million from businessman Daniel Vorcaro, founder of Banco Master. The data, signed by journalist Robson Bonin, indicates that the amount, equivalent to around R$153 million, was supposedly deposited in a hidden account abroad.
According to the Veja magazine publication, the financial transaction would have been intermediated by Augusto Lima, a former business partner of Vorcaro, and aimed to reciprocate supposed support for Banco Master’s interests. Questioned by the portal Poder360, Alcolumbre vehemently denied the allegations, classifying them as “absolutely false” and promising to “face them with the utmost firmness”.
Daniel Vorcaro’s legal team even formalized two proposed collaboration agreements. However, both were denied by the Federal Police – the second refusal occurred on the same Thursday (June 11). The investigators argued that the information provided did not contain new evidence substantial enough to justify the granting of benefits, an indication of the authorities’ rigidity in high-profile cases and the need for concrete evidence to validate allegations.
The Veja article also details that Vorcaro mentioned a collaboration with the Workers’ Party in Bahia (PT-BA), which began in 2007. This partnership took place during the administration of Jaques Wagner (PT-BA), through the “Cesta do Povo” program, which allowed public servants to make purchases with direct deductions from their salaries.
Subsequently, under the administration of Rui Costa (PT-BA), a state decree was issued, restricting the possibility of public servants transferring their debts to other banks. This determination would have elevated CredCesta to one of Vorcaro’s strategic partners, strengthening its position in the payroll loan market.
The publication also reports that a pension fund intended for public servants in Amapá acquired R$400 million in “bad bonds” from Banco Master. This fund was led by a person who had already served as treasurer in the Alcolumbre electoral campaign. The text points to similar scenarios that affected social security regimes under the management of former Rio de Janeiro governor Cláudio Castro (PL) and former governor of the Federal District Ibaneis Rocha (MDB).
Position of Davi Alcolumbre and other parties mentioned

In an official statement, Davi Alcolumbre’s advisory team reinforced that the parliamentarian never received any type of value, “whether in national or international territory”.
Davi Alcolumbre’s office released a complete statement, stating that the accusations made by Veja are “absolutely false” and “not valid”. The statement emphasizes that the senator “never received money, in Brazil or abroad.” Given the seriousness of the allegations and the damage to their reputation and public life, “appropriate legal measures” will be taken in the civil and criminal spheres. The defense promises that those responsible will be called to present proof of their statements and that the “truth of the facts will prevail.”
The Poder360 portal contacted Rui Costa and Jaques Wagner’s advisory teams via WhatsApp to request a position on the topic. However, there was no response until the original publication of the report.
At the same time, this digital newspaper sent an email message to Daniel Vorcaro’s defense, seeking clarification on the alleged transfer of values reported. As in previous cases, there was no response until the publication of the article, which stated that the text would be updated if new comments were received.
