The International Automobile Federation (FIA) confirmed the extension of the link with Pirelli, which will continue as the exclusive tire supplier for Formula 1. The new commitment guarantees the Italian manufacturer’s presence in the top category of global motorsport until the conclusion of the 2028 season.

The strategic collaboration between the FIA, Formula 1 and Pirelli has been officially renewed, covering a period of four years, from 2025 to 2028. This agreement guarantees that the company will continue to supply not only the main category, but also the supporting series with its products, consolidating its position in motorsport.

Pirelli reinforces its commitment to Formula 1’s sustainability goals

The continued partnership underlines Pirelli’s alignment with Formula 1’s ambitious sustainability goals. The company is committed to developing more eco-efficient tire compounds and structures, contributing to the reduction of the carbon footprint and environmentally responsible practices. Such long-term commitment from an exclusive supplier is a key factor for the category to advance its environmental goals in a cohesive and effective way, integrating research and development directly into sports solutions.

Both FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem and Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali expressed great satisfaction with the perpetuation of this collaboration. Both highlighted the excellence and reliability of Pirelli’s products, highlighting their relevance for the safety of drivers and the quality of the show delivered to fans.

The company faces technical challenges and seeks innovations for the future of F1

Pirelli is facing important technical challenges, especially with the imminent change in regulations for 2026. These changes could significantly impact the design of the cars and, consequently, the demands placed on the tires. The company is already mobilizing its research and development resources to introduce innovations that fully meet the future demands of Formula 1.

Since 2011, Pirelli has served as Formula 1’s sole supplier, navigating multiple eras of regulations and vehicle configurations. The renewal of this contract is a testimony to the confidence placed in its capacity for innovation and the delivery of high-performance products.
