He will compete in the tournament for the fourth time, with a quarter-final in 2024 as his best result.

Musetti and Berrettini’s trajectories on the circuit
Lorenzo Musetti consolidates himself as a reference on European clay, with 18 victories in 2025 on that surface, including semifinals in three Masters 1000. The 23-year-old Italian has four ATP titles and is looking for his first ATP 500, motivated by the support of the Rio public in previous editions.
Matteo Berrettini returns to Rio after quarter-finals in 2022, driven by his family connection to Brazil via his Brazilian grandmother. Formerly sixth in the world, the tennis player has ten trophies, six on clay, and was the first Italian in the Wimbledon final in 2021, with 25 aces in the decision. Your preparation includes intense training to regain shape after recent injuries.
The Italian plans to use the tournament as a basis for the clay season, where he historically earns more ranking points.
Participation of Gaël Monfils in the farewell
Gaël Monfils joins the Rio Open on his final tour, before retiring in December 2026, after announcing the end of his career. The 39-year-old Frenchman competed in the tournament in 2018, reaching the quarter-finals with victories over Stefanos Tsitsipas and Pablo Cuevas.
Monfils has 12 ATP titles and is known for 500 aces in Grand Slams, with quarters at Roland Garros 2008. His presence elevates the appeal of the event, attracting generations of fans with his acrobatic style and 1,200 victories on the circuit.
