Microsoft has begun rolling out performance improvements in Windows 11 focused on accelerating essential system operations. The optimizations reduce RAM memory consumption, speed up the opening of Explorador and Arquivos and reduce application startup times after restart. The rollout has started for Windows Insider program participants on the Release Preview, Beta, Dev and Canary channels, with regular users expected to arrive in May 2026.

Explorador of Arquivos and Configurações gain speed

Explorador from Arquivos has received internal optimizations that speed up folder loading and metadata display. Usuários with many files or external disks connected will notice more immediate response when navigating between directories. The tool now processes information with lower latency, providing a more fluid workflow when managing files.

Configurações’s page has also been improved. The list of installed applications, icons and space calculations now load more quickly. Computadores with dozens or hundreds of programs installed shows a significant reduction in viewing time. The interface is more responsive when scrolling or filtering apps, eliminating visible crashes that plagued software-heavy machines.

Faster Inicialização and optimized memory

Aplicativos configured to start automatically with Windows 11 now opens with less waiting after reboot. Microsoft has adjusted process loading sequencing, reducing total boot time especially on machines with multiple autostart programs. The system is ready for use sooner, eliminating the typical waiting period after turning on the computer.

Processos in the background, as update downloads by Windows Update, now consume less RAM. Optimization prevents the system from slowing down during invisible tasks, keeping available memory more stable. In tests with multiple simultaneous downloads, memory remains balanced, allowing other tasks to be performed without noticeable drops in performance.

Melhorias in security and accessibility

  • Windows Hello recognizes fingerprint without delay when waking up from sleep mode.
  • Desbloqueio biometric on laptops and desktops is now instantaneous.
  • Painel of emojis received improved typing for more fluid selection.
  • Histórico of Área of Transferência uses less memory in automatic operations.

Essas improvements eliminate minor annoyances in frequent locking and unlocking sessions. The Windows Hello now offers instant unlocking, solving a common friction point in devices with a biometric reader. The emoji panel also responds more fluidly when typing, contributing to a more polished experience.

Distribution Cronograma for common users

Optimizations start to go out via the Release Preview channel in May 2026. Ajustes in the Configurações area are still in the Dev phase, with a broader rollout expected soon. Microsoft has signaled its intention to continue delivering optimizations until the end of 2026, consolidating changes into stable builds over the next few months.

Common Usuários will receive the changes through regular cumulative updates, without the need to join the Insider program. The optimizations do not require new hardware and apply to existing installations compatible with Windows 11, benefiting machines with limited RAM capacity and older generation processors.
