Samsung has released a new beta build of One UI 9.0 running on Android 17, bringing new features focused on fast sharing, virtual assistance and centralized support. The version is still in the initial testing phase, but it already reveals the manufacturer’s direction for practical improvements in the daily lives of Galaxy users. Entre highlights include Tap to Share, a solution for contactless file transfer across devices, and the reorganization of diagnostic and warranty tools into a single, accessible hub.
Tap to Share integrates smartphone proximity sharing
The most striking feature of the new version is Tap to Share, which unifies Quick Share and allows you to transfer files, images or videos by bringing two compatible smartphones together at the top. The process uses NFC technology to initiate the connection, while an animation confirms the pairing and automatically starts the transfer. The solution resembles similar features such as NameDrop from Apple or the old S Beam from Samsung itself.

Widgets from Bixby gets new formats on the home screen
Samsung’s virtual assistant received new widgets in One UI 9. A 4×2 format includes a full bar for text entry, as well as dedicated icons for microphone and keyboard, allowing quick interactions without opening the entire Bixby application. Outro widget facilitates direct voice commands on the home screen, positioning itself as a useful shortcut for everyday tasks such as quick dictation or simple queries.
The screenshots reveal clean layouts that match the overall look of the One UI while maintaining visual consistency with the rest of the interface. Samsung seems to focus on making Bixby more practical for everyday life, transforming the assistant into an accessible tool without the need to open additional menus. Esses elements are positioned as efficient shortcuts on the home screen, reducing steps for frequent actions.
Garantia and Cuidados centralize support and diagnostics
One UI 9 introduces a new section called Garantia and Cuidados in settings, serving as a centralized hub for coverage information, repair history, and diagnostic tools. The menu allows you to check coverage status, schedule services or run tests on the device, integrating voice commands from the Bixby to explain options in a more accessible way to users.
Antes of this change, users had to navigate through multiple screens or contact the support center directly to resolve warranty issues and repairs. Agora, everything is concentrated in one place, significantly simplifying the support process. Capturas shows an organized interface with clear sections for repairs and remote diagnosis, especially benefiting those who buy or sell used devices, as the repair history is more transparent and accessible.
Acessibilidade advances with screen reading and text highlighting
The update also advances tools for digital inclusion. Selecionar to Ouvir allows any item on the screen to be read aloud with a simple tap, while Destaque to Texto selectively increases font size and highlights content for easier reading. Larger controls in the quick panel complement these improvements, helping with quick interactions for users with different needs.
One UI 9 is still in the initial beta phase, with many new features related to artificial intelligence and other refinements expected in the next builds. The stable version is expected to arrive around July 2026, coinciding with the launch of the new Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 foldables. The Galaxy S26 series should be one of the first to receive the public beta soon, expanding testing to more devices. The refinements revealed so far show that Samsung prioritizes practical improvements on a daily basis, even in a version still under development.
