Mandatory Registro advances slowly

The CRT reported that, as of May 13, around 48 million lines had been registered. The estimated total of active lines in the country varies between 140 million and 158 million, according to different sector reports. Isso leaves most users out of the system.

  • Usuários must present CURP, official document with photo and basic data
  • Cadastro can be done via operator apps, official websites or authorized stores
  • Processo is free and must link the line to an individual or legal entity
  • Linhas enterprises also require corresponding documentation

The current pace of registrations has increased, but is still below what is necessary to cover all numbers before the deadline. Operadoras registered around 750 thousand lines per day recently, against a much lower initial average.

Como check if the line is regularized

Clientes can check the status directly on the operator’s application or at the call center. Quem received messages about data update or identity validation and must complete the process as soon as possible. Old and prepaid Números have the highest risk of suspension.

The president of the CRT, Norma Solano, reinforced that there is no official extension so far. The deadline remains June 30th. Após On this date, unregistered lines lose calls, SMS and mobile data. Serviços emergency like 911 and seismic alerts remain available.

Impacto goes beyond calls

Muitos Mexicans use their cell phones as their main means of accessing banks, delivery apps, remote work and government accounts. The suspension would interrupt SMS authentications and access to digital platforms. Pequenos businesses that rely on WhatsApp or calls for sales would also be affected.

Especialistas from the telecommunications sector monitors the volume of daily registrations carefully. Associação Nacional of Telecomunicações of México asked citizens to prioritize registration in the coming weeks. Campanhas on social media and TV reinforces the message.

Dados stays with the operators

Personal information does not go to a government central bank, according to the CRT. Elas remain protected by telephone companies. The stated objective is to reduce the use of anonymous lines in crimes such as extortion and fraud. Ainda therefore, some users express concern about privacy.

Operadoras doubled their efforts to process registrations. Plataformas digital and in-person service received reinforcement from teams. With Mesmo increasing, projections indicate that tens of millions of lines could be left without service in July if the pace does not accelerate further.

What changes in practice after the deadline

From July 1st, unregistered lines go into restricted mode. Usuários can only call the operator and for emergencies. Para reactivate, you will need to complete registration after the date. Não there is an indication of definitive loss of the number, only temporary blocking until regularization.
