On Friday night, May 29, 2026, Anvisa authorized the resumption of production at the Química Amparo factory, responsible for Ypê products. The decision followed a reinspection that confirmed the implementation of corrective actions at the unit located in Amparo, inside São Paulo. The release allows the company to once again manufacture dishwashers, washing liquids and disinfectants at the plant.
The measure represents progress in the health crisis that has affected the brand since the beginning of May. The agency maintained, however, the recommendation that consumers avoid using batches with final number 1 manufactured until March 31, 2026. New Produtos, made from April onwards, with the same batch ending, were released for commercialization and normal use. Ypê confirmed receipt of the authorization and informed that it is working on the gradual normalization of supply.
Fábrica of Amparo failed previous inspections
Química Amparo underwent inspection in November 2025. At that time, technicians identified the aeruginous Pseudomonas bacteria in samples of products manufactured during that period. The microorganism can cause infections in people with low immunity, such as hospital patients or patients with cystic fibrosis.
The inspection recorded hygiene problems, accumulation of dirt in production areas and failures in the water system. The company carried out a voluntary recall of specific batches of the Tixan Ypê and Ypê Power Act lines. Parte’s products returned to the market after further testing deemed adequate.
- Lava Roupas Líquido Tixan Ypê Primavera (batches 254031 and 193021)
- Lava Roupas Líquido Tixan Ypê Maciez (batch 97021)
- Lava Roupas Líquido Tixan Ypê Express Combate Mau Odor (multiple batches)
- Lava Roupas Líquido Ypê Power Act (multiple batches)
- Outros items from the mentioned lines with specific batches
The company adjusted processes at the time and presented reports to the authorities. The case gained attention again in April 2026.
Suspensão final batch total 1 occurred on May 7
Anvisa published Resolução RE 1834/2026 on May 7th. The document determined the recall, suspension of manufacturing, marketing, distribution and use of 24 products with final number 1. The list covered dishwasher detergents, liquid laundry soaps and disinfectants under the brands Ypê, Tixan and Atol.
The decision was based on a new inspection carried out between April 27th and 30th. Equipes of Anvisa, Centro of Vigilância Sanitária of São Paulo and Vigilância Sanitária of Amparo found 76 irregularities. Problems included serious failures in good manufacturing practices, microbiological contamination and deficiencies in quality control.
Ypê filed an appeal the following day. Isso has temporarily suspended the effects of the resolution. The Anvisa board of directors analyzed the request on May 15 and unanimously upheld the suspension. The company then prepared a detailed action plan to comply with all the requirements mentioned.
Nova inspection confirmed corrections and allowed release
Técnicos returned to the factory in the days leading up to May 29th. The re-inspection involved Anvisa, Centro of Vigilância Sanitária of São Paulo, Grupo of Vigilância Sanitária of Campinas and Vigilância Sanitária of Amparo. Inspectors verified progress in corrections.
Authorization for immediate resumption came out on Friday. Química Amparo can operate all affected lines. Produtos manufactured from April 1, 2026 with the end of batch 1 were considered suitable. Anvisa highlighted that the factory now has the conditions to produce without immediate health risk.
Consumidores who have old batches must keep the products isolated and contact the Ypê SAC for collection. The agency reinforces that the release of production does not mean the automatic release of all previous stocks.
Impacto in the hygiene and cleaning market remains under evaluation
Ypê occupies a leading position in the household cleaning products segment in Brasil. The temporary suspension led to a reduction in supply in supermarket chains and concerns among consumers. The recovery should allow inventory to be replenished in the coming weeks, as the company increases its manufacturing pace.
Especialistas from the sector is following the case closely. Normalization depends on continued compliance with corrective measures. Órgãos from consumer protection advises careful checking of the batch number on the labels. Lotes with ending 1 through March remain under restriction.
Anvisa reported that it will continue to monitor the unit. Novas inspections may occur to validate the maintenance of improvements. The company reinforced its commitment to quality and transparency in official communications.
Detalhes about bacteria and health risks
Pseudomonas aeruginosa frequently appears in humid environments and water systems. Ela resists some antibiotics and poses greater danger to vulnerable groups. The bacteria does not usually affect healthy people in normal contact with cleaning products.
In the case of Ypê, the presence was detected in samples during inspections. Authorities linked the finding to failures in the factory’s microbiological control. Anvisa highlighted that the main risk comes from the inappropriate use of contaminated products, especially in homes with the elderly, young children or people undergoing medical treatment.
The agency did not record confirmed cases of infection directly linked to the products. The measure was preventive in nature, based on technical risk assessment.
Cronologia complete crisis
The first alert appeared in November 2025, with a voluntary recall after detection of the bacteria. The company adjusted processes and released part of the batches. In April 2026, a new inspection identified a recurrence of problems.
