WhatsApp recently started making available a redesigned look for message bubbles, reaching both testers and a portion of users of the stable version of the application on iOS devices. This aesthetic change arrives after a period of development, aiming to modernize the appearance of conversations.

A recent visual analysis shows that the new bubbles now have more rounded corners, giving them a more contemporary look compared to the previous interface. This change contributes to a user experience that is more aligned with current design trends in communication applications.

Another notable modification was applied specifically to media messages exchanged in individual chats. In these interactions, the photos and videos displayed no longer have a border around their content, presenting the visual material in a cleaner and more direct way.

In the case of media that is forwarded or sent in groups, a border is still only visible at the top. This edge is used to house the label that indicates forwarding or sender identification, depending on the situation.

Links that include a preview show the border exclusively at the bottom. This structure serves to accommodate the indicator that signals the status of sending, receiving or reading the message.

Despite being a relatively subtle change, this update marks an important step in modernizing the application interface. It reflects the search for a more attractive look and in line with users’ expectations, renewing the message bubbles that maintained the same style for a long period.
