The LinkedIn platform is implementing a new feature that will allow users to flag posts that appear to have been generated by artificial intelligence. Effective July 30, 2026, this measure is part of a suite of updates designed to decrease the volume of low-quality content, often described as “AI slop,” on the professional network. The option to report posts with the “Looks like AI content” feature is now available.

The introduction of this tool aims to strengthen the platform’s efforts to maintain the quality and authenticity of online interactions. A recent study by Pangram, which specializes in AI detection, revealed that around 41% of longer posts on LinkedIn were identified as entirely created by artificial intelligence, demonstrating the urgency of the issue for the professional network and the need for more robust measures.

LinkedIn’s chief product officer, Hari Srinivasan, said combating “AI slop” is a top priority for the company. He assured the platform’s commitment to this issue. In addition to the report button, the company is intensifying the use of new classifiers to identify low-quality or AI-generated publications, with the aim of reducing their appearance in suggested content and outside users’ network of connections.

The reporting functionality is already visible to some users, located in the three-dot menu of each post. When selecting the option, the publication is automatically hidden from view in the feed, indicating immediate action by the LinkedIn system to manage the type of content displayed.
