Chery officially announced the arrival of the Exeed EX7, a model that promises to transform the automotive industry by introducing the first 100% electric braking system in a mass production vehicle. The Exeed premium line SUV adopts EMB technology, known as “brake-by-wire”, which completely eliminates traditional hydraulic components and uses electronic signals to stop the vehicle. The model is expected to hit the market in the first quarter, consolidating a new era of vehicle efficiency and safety.

The launch marks a significant step forward for the Asian manufacturer, which invested three years in rigorous testing to validate the system’s reliability. By removing fluid and oil ducts, the design not only reduces the car’s overall weight, but also simplifies maintenance and prevents leaks, offering a cleaner, more technological solution for the modern consumer.

Innovation in the digital braking system

The EMB mechanism operates through direct electrical signals, ensuring a much faster response between pressing the pedal and the action of the brake calipers. Sensores capture the driver’s intention and send instant commands to mechanical actuators on the wheels, reducing reaction time by milliseconds and shortening the stopping distance in emergency situations.

In addition to superior performance, the electronic architecture allows for deep integration with autonomous driving systems. The vehicle’s central computer can modulate the braking of each wheel individually with surgical precision, surpassing human capabilities in low-grip scenarios or complex curves. Essa digitization facilitates remote software updates, allowing brake calibration to be improved over the life of the car.

Extended autonomy and advanced platform

The Exeed EX7 is built on the Flying Fish 3.0 platform, which integrates the new braking system with an intelligent and adaptive suspension. In the purely electric version, the vehicle sports a 97.7 kWh battery, capable of delivering a range of up to 726 kilometers according to the Chinese measurement cycle, positioning it as a leader in its segment.

To meet different usage profiles and eliminate autonomy anxiety, the brand developed different configurations that balance power and range:

– Electric Versão with 97.7 kWh high capacity battery.

– Alcance maximum of 726 km in the purely electric variant.

– Opção with range extender that exceeds 1,000 km of total autonomy.

– Sistema intelligent chassis that adapts driving comfort in real time.

Impact on the luxury and security market

With this launch, Chery seeks to increase the perception of value of the Exeed brand, competing directly with European and North American manufacturers in the premium sector. The technology has been extensively tested under extreme conditions, from intense heat to freezing cold, to ensure the durability demanded by high-end consumers.

Eliminating the hydraulic system also frees up space in the chassis design, allowing engineers to optimize the vehicle’s interior and battery layout. With the official recognition of EMB technology by local regulatory bodies, the way is clear for the EX7 to set a new standard in active safety, where electronics take a central role in protecting occupants.
