Neymar’s family transferred 150 thousand euros to Dani Alves in 2023. The amount was used to pay compensation to the victim in a sexual assault case in Spanish justice. The loan took place in Barcelona, during the blockade of the former player’s assets.

Dani Alves returned the amount in 2024. The help included legal support from Gustavo Xisto, a lawyer linked to Neymar. Alves obtained provisional freedom after bail of 1 million euros gathered by allies.

  • Value was equivalent to around 800 thousand reais at the time.
  • Transfer was direct and punctual.
  • Friendship between the athletes motivated the gesture.

One-off financial support

The transaction involved only the compensation required by the court. Neymar did not participate in other payment phases. The money helped Alves meet his immediate obligation while assets remained blocked.

Conditions of provisional release

Alves handed over his Brazilian and Spanish passports to the authorities. He appears weekly in court in Barcelona.

The Court imposes a ban on approaching the victim. Constant monitoring verifies compliance with the rules.

Any infraction can revoke freedom. Alves has resided in Spain since March 2024.

Strategic legal support

Gustavo Xisto was part of Alves’ defense team. The lawyer worked on strategies to appeal against the four and a half year sentence.

Xisto has experience in high-profile cases in football. His participation reinforced technical arguments in the process. The defense presented new evidence on appeal. The high court is currently reviewing the case.

Loan return

Alves paid off the 150 thousand euros at the beginning of 2024. The operation ended the financial link with the Neymar family. Neymar’s father publicly confirmed the isolated nature of the aid. There was no involvement in the 1 million euro bail.

Trajectory affected by case

Alves has won 43 titles at clubs like Barcelona and PSG. The conviction took place in February 2024 for facts from December 2022. Sponsors broke contracts after the sentence. Clubs avoid signings due to legal restrictions.

Alves maintains a limited routine in Barcelona. He awaits a final decision on the appeal filed in April 2024.

The defense questions the consistency of evidence in the initial trial. New witnesses were called to testify. The process continues at the Barcelona Court. Decision may changepunish or acquit the defendant.

Football friendship

Neymar and Alves played together at PSG between 2017 and 2019. They won titles with the Brazilian team in 2019 and 2021. The relationship began at Santos in 2009. They shared dressing rooms in eight different seasons.
