The Dolphin Mini measures 3.78 meters in length, ideal for cities. Its LFP battery offers fast recharging, from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes via the CCS2 DC connector. The interior includes10.1-inch rotating screen and voice commands.

Versions vary by region, with autonomy options adjusted to local demands. The bodywork follows BYD’s Ocean design, with colors such as Ice Blue and Sea Blue. These elements facilitate integration into urban fleets.

Prices vary by country and drive sales

In China, the model starts at 69,800 yuan, equivalent to US$9,700. This value reflects BYD’s accessibility strategy, which produced 280,000 units in 2023. Recent exports sent 9,000 vehicles to Europe.

In South American markets, such as Uruguay and Brazil, prices rise to around US$22,000, adjusted for taxes and logistics. In Chile, the GL version costs CLP 19.99 million, below the 20 million barrier for pure EVs.

The difference reflects local adaptations, but maintains the Dolphin Mini as an economical option. Sales in Latin America have already exceeded expectations, with thousands of units ordered.

These price adjustments position the vehicle against combustion competitors. BYD plans more shipments to expand reach.

Expanding into new territories

BYD initially targeted the Dolphin Mini at South America, with deliveries in Uruguay since February 2024. In Brazil, road tests took place at dealerships, preparing the official launch. Mexico records the model as the best-selling EV, with local production in a dedicated factory.

Europe receives lots of 9 thousand units viaports of Shanghai, focusing on Germany and Spain. These markets demand versions with reinforced suspension and European compliance.

The strategy includes partnerships with local distributors for after-sales support. Expansion to Asia, such as Indonesia, occurs in parallel.

Security and connectivity features

The Dolphin Mini incorporates the DiPilot 100 system, with collision alerts and lane assist. The Blade battery resists punctures, raising protection standards. Eco-leather seats and premium materials make up the cabin.

Connectivity encompasses over-the-air updates and smartphone integration. These items serve urban drivers who prioritize practicality.

Performance in real tests

On Brazilian highways, the vehicle achieved efficient consumption of 15 kWh/100 km. Smooth acceleration benefits use in heavy traffic. Tests in Europe confirm stability in urban curves.

Versions with 405 km of range are suitable for short trips without frequent recharging. BYD monitors feedback for future refinements.

Regional adaptations include suspension calibration for different floors. This data comes from independent assessments in launch markets.

The model has accumulated awards for energy efficiency since its debut at the Shanghai Motor Show in 2023.

Availability and color options

Thehatch arrives in shades such as Yellow, Black and White, in line with the Ocean aesthetic. Online ordering facilitates purchases on official BYD websites. Reseller networks expand to cover regional capitals.

Local financing offers affordable installments, encouraging transitions to electric. BYD projects 50% growth in international sales for 2025.
