The Powerball jackpot reached $1.1 billion for the Monday, December 15, 2025 draw after no ticket matched all six numbers in the Saturday, December 13 draw. The numbers drawn were 1, 28, 31, 57, 58 and Powerball 16, with a multiplier Power Play of 2x. The prize money corresponds to approximately US$503.4 million.

This value places the jackpot as the sixth largest in the history of the lottery. The draw takes place at 10:59 pm on Costa Leste of Estados Unidos.

  • The last winning jackpot took place on September 6, 2025, with US$1.787 billion split between Missouri and Texas tickets.
  • Since then, the lottery has recorded 43 consecutive draws without a jackpot winner.

How to participate in Powerball

Players choose five numbers from 1 to 69 for the white balls and one number from 1 to 26 for the red Powerball. Cada ticket costs US$2, with an additional US$1 option for Power Play, which multiplies smaller prizes.

To win the jackpot, you must match all six numbers. The payment option includes an annual fee in 30 annual installments or a lump sum in cash.

The game is available in 45 US states, in addition to Distrito of Columbia, Porto Rico and Ilhas Virgens.

Odds of winning the draw

The odds of winning the jackpot remain at 1 in 292.2 million, regardless of the size of the prize. The overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 24.9.

Other categories include:

  • Matching only Powerball: prize of US$4, with odds of 1 in 38.32.
  • Hitting five white balls without Powerball: $1 million, with odds of about 1 in 11.6 million.
  • Hitting five balls with Power Play: up to US$2 million.

In Saturday’s drawing, tickets in states including Califórnia, Flórida, Michigan, Nova Jersey and Virgínia each won $1 million for matching five numbers.

Biggest recorded jackpots

The current prize of US$1.1 billion is among the largest in Powerball. The absolute record belongs to the November 2022 draw, with US$2.04 billion won by a ticket in Califórnia.

Other big prizes include the one for September 2025, divided into two states. The lottery has given away billions in prizes over the years, with a portion of sales going to public causes in participating states.

Secondary prizes distributed

Although the jackpot was not claimed, the December 13th draw awarded prizes to several players in lower categories. Dois tickets with Power Play activated took $2 million each, in Carolina of Norte and Pensilvânia.

Five others matched the white balls and won $1 million. A ticket in Califórnia came close to the jackpot, but was missing the red Powerball, resulting in a significant prize.

These winnings highlight that, even without the main prize, participants can obtain significant amounts.

Options for whoever wins the prize

Jackpot winners choose between annualized payment in 30 increasing installments or cash lump sum, subject to federal and state taxes. The advertised value refers to the annual fee option before deductions.

Powerball recommends that winners consult financial professionals before claiming the prize. Bilhetes winners must be officially verified at points of sale or on the lottery website.

Next contest details

The next drawing takes place on Monday, December 15th at 10:59 pm ET. Bilhetes can be purchased up to minutes before the time, depending on the state.

Expectations grow with accumulation, but the probabilities remain the same. The lottery continues to attract players looking for big prizes.
