Apple has confirmed the biggest expansion of its wellness service, Fitness+, since its launch. The platform will reach Japão at the beginning of 2026, in a strategic move to consolidate its presence in the Asian market, bringing with it a series of new features focused on localization and personalization of the user experience.

The update represents a significant milestone for the company’s services division, which seeks to diversify its revenue sources beyond hardware. The arrival at Japão will be accompanied by the introduction of digital dubbing in Japanese for the entire library of workouts and meditations, in addition to the inclusion of new musical genres in the playlists.

Before debuting in the Japanese market, the service will be available in 28 new countries from December 15, 2025, bringing its global presence to a total of 49 markets. Essa initiative aims to make Fitness+ a truly global platform, adapted to the needs and preferences of an increasingly diverse audience.

Global reach and new markets

The expansion announced for the end of 2025 is the most comprehensive ever carried out for the Fitness+. Países of América Latina, Europa and Ásia will be covered, including strategic markets such as Chile, Índia, Holanda, With this expansion, the Apple fitness service will cover almost 50 countries, reinforcing its competitiveness compared to other digital training platforms that have gained popularity in recent years. The expansion strategy is not just limited to geographic availability, but also cultural and linguistic adaptation, an important differentiator to ensure user adoption in non-English-speaking regions.

The company highlights that the objective is to motivate more people to adopt an active lifestyle, offering a tool integrated into the Apple product ecosystem. Integration with the Apple Watch remains the central pillar of the experience, displaying real-time performance metrics directly on the screen of the user’s device, be it an iPhone, iPad or Apple TV. Essa synergy between hardware and software is one of the main attractions of the service, creating an immersive and connected training experience that other platforms are difficult to replicate with the same fluidity and precision in health and physical activity data.

Digital dubbing technology

One of the most innovative features of the update is the introduction of digital dubbing. Utilizando an advanced technology, the voices of the 28 original Fitness+ instructors are digitally recreated in new languages, preserving the tone, energy and personality of each trainer. Isso ensures that the motivation and instruction experience is consistent regardless of the language selected by the user, eliminating the feeling of a mechanical or impersonal translation.

Initially, hundreds of workouts and meditations are now available with audio in Spanish and German, with new dubbed content being added weekly. Japanese will be integrated into the service simultaneously with its launch in the country in 2026, following the same schedule of continuous updates.

For added convenience, users can switch the audio language at any time during a workout via the playback controls or set a default language in the app’s settings. Dubbing functionality requires devices to be updated to the latest operating system versions such as iOS 26.1, iPadOS 26.1, and tvOS 26.1.

Expansion of the musical catalog

Music has always been a central component of the Fitness+ experience, and the new update expands the available options even further. K-Pop has been added as a new music genre in all types of training, with playlists that include global hits from renowned artists from the South Korean scene. Essa addition reflects the growing popularity of the genre around the world and aims to make training sessions more dynamic and appealing to a wider audience.

Integration with Apple Music allows users to easily save music from their favorite workouts to their personal libraries. The company also confirmed that J-Pop will be added to the music catalog soon, a development that is especially relevant for the launch of the service on Japão and which demonstrates Apple’s commitment to adapting content to local cultural preferences.

This musical diversification enriches the personalization of the experience, allowing users to choose workouts not only by the type of activity or instructor, but also by the musical style that most motivates them. The playlists are curated to complement the intensity and pace of each session, whether it’s high intensity like HIIT or calmer like Ioga.

The new musical options join an already robust catalog that includes genres such as hip-hop, Latin rhythms, rock and the main hits of the moment. The careful selection of the soundtrack is designed to increase engagement and performance during workouts, transforming each workout into a more immersive and fun experience.

Personalization and motivation tools

The Apple Fitness+ stands out for its smart features that help users stay consistent and achieve their goals in a personalized way. The Planos Personalizados functionality, for example, creates automatic training schedules based on each person’s individual preferences, such as desired weekly frequency, session length, preferred instructors, and favorite music genres. Users can choose between different focuses, such as “Equal to Sempre” to maintain an established routine, “More” to seek new challenges and increase intensity, or “Start” for those starting their journey in the fitness world. Outra motivation tool is the Barra of Queima, which offers a real-time performance comparison with other users who have already completed the same workout, encouraging healthy competition. Métricas vitals, such as heart rate and progress on the Atividade rings, are clearly displayed on the screen, allowing continuous effort monitoring. Além of physical workouts, the platform offers a robust guided meditation program, with 12 distinct themes that include Calma, Sono and the innovative Banho of Som, all designed to promote mental well-being and mindfulness.

Variety of modalities available

The platform offers a catalog with 12 main training modalities, catering to all fitness levels, from beginner to advanced. Sessions range in length from five to 45 minutes, allowing users to easily find an exercise that fits into their daily routine. Entre the available options are Musculação, Ioga, HIIT, Pilates, Dança,

Costs and access requirements

Access to Fitness+ has a monthly cost of US$9.99 or an annual plan of US$79.99, with the advantage of Compartilhamento Familiar, which allows up to six people to use the same subscription. Como incentive, Apple offers three months of free access with the purchase of recent compatible devices, such as a new Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad or Apple TV.

To use the service, you must have an Apple Watch Series 3 or later paired with an iPhone, although basic access is also possible with just your smartphone. The experience is enhanced by using devices like AirPods Pro, which offer advanced heart rate monitoring and spatial audio for even greater immersion during physical activities.
