Mercedes-Benz sells the AMG GT 63 S E Performance in the Brasil, a plug-in hybrid model that reaches 816 combined horsepower. The super sports car is available in two body styles, a two-door coupe and a four-door sedan, with prices starting at R$1.6 million and reaching R$2.3 million depending on the configurations. Testes performed on the track demonstrate acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds, highlighting the technology derived directly from the brand’s competition cars in the Fórmula 1.
The hybrid system combines a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with an electric drive positioned on the rear axle. Essa architecture allows for optimized force distribution and immediate throttle responses. The 6.1 kWh battery is individually cooled by cells, maintaining the ideal temperature for maximum performance.
Unlike conventional hybrids focused on economy, the AMG GT 63 S prioritizes extreme acceleration and high speeds. Adjustable 4Matic+ all-wheel drive ensures precise control even in demanding track conditions.
High performance hybrid system
The powertrain of the AMG GT 63 S E Performance generates 612 hp from the twin-turbo V8 alone, complemented by 204 hp from the electric motor. Total torque reaches 144.7 kgfm, allowing vigorous restarts in any speed range.
The compact battery positioned on the rear axle contributes to a near-ideal weight balance. The system operates at 400 volts, facilitating rapid transfer of power to the wheels.
In track tests, the model exceeded 250 km/h on short straights without signs of instability. The individual liquid cooling of the 560 cells maintains thermal efficiency at around 45 °C.

Technology derived from Fórmula 1
Mercedes applied solutions directly from racing single-seaters to the AMG GT 63 S. The active rear spoiler adjusts angle according to speed, increasing downforce in fast corners.
Front and side diffusers also move automatically to optimize airflow. Esses elements allowed speeds close to 300 km/h on long straights during evaluations.
The carboceramic brakes resist fatigue during intense deceleration from high speeds. The acoustic insulation preserves the characteristic roar of the V8 even with active electrical assistance.
Variable all-wheel drive distributes torque between axles as required. Esse feature reinforces stability during aggressive corner exits.
Performance evaluated on the track
Evaluations carried out on the Circuito Panamericano confirmed total control in high-speed curves. The adaptive suspension precisely compensates for body movements.
Race mode unlocks full potential without excessive safety interventions. The multimedia center displays a specific warning for exclusive use on closed circuits.
On straights, the speedometer advanced quickly without vibrations or unwanted aerodynamic noise. The V8’s roar remained present even with isolated electric propulsion.
After intense laps, the brakes maintained efficiency without loss of pedal. The characteristic smell of hot rubber evidenced extreme tire use.

Comfort in daily use
Off the track, the AMG GT 63 S reveals a more compliant suspension in comfortable modes. The front seats offer multiple adjustments, including massage and variable lateral support.
The interior uses premium materials with leather and Alcantara trim. The 11.9-inch multimedia center integrates intuitive controls.
- Adaptive cruise control maintains distance and lane centering.
- 360-degree cameras make it easier to maneuver in confined spaces.
- Premium sound system guarantees high sound quality.
The 203-liter trunk accommodates compact luggage for short trips. Selective cylinder deactivation reduces consumption at constant speeds.
Versions available on the market
The coupe body prioritizes sporty lines and high structural rigidity. The four-door variant maintains virtually all power, with slight adjustment to compensate for additional weight.
Both receive a manual signature on the V8 engine, a tradition of the AMG division. Pacotes options include forged wheels and carbon fiber finishes.
Prices vary depending on equipment selected by buyers. The authorized Mercedes-Benz network already accepts reservations at selected dealerships.
Main competitors
The Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid represents a direct rival in the four-door version. The German model starts at prices close to R$1.7 million with similar power.
In the pure coupe category, the Porsche 911 GT3 appears as a track-focused alternative. Contudo, delivers 510 hp exclusively from combustion and slightly lower acceleration.
Other hybrid super sports cars still have a limited presence in the Brazilian segment. The AMG GT 63 S consolidates its unique position by combining sedan practicality with extreme coupe performance.
Advanced assistance features
The AMG GT 63 S incorporates level 2 semi-autonomous driving technologies.
The head-up display projects essential information onto the windshield. Iluminação Matrix LED adapts beams according to opposing traffic.
Connectivity allows for remote software updates. Dedicated Aplicativo monitors location and battery status remotely.
