The official schedule for payments of the PIS/PASEP salary bonus, referring to the base year 2024, was approved and published by Conselho Deliberativo from Fundo from Amparo to Trabalhador (Codefat). The measure establishes the dates on which millions of workers in the private and public sectors will be able to withdraw the benefit, following a staggered calendar to organize the flow of payments over the next year.
Setting the calendar in advance allows workers to check in advance whether they meet all eligibility criteria. The consultation can now be carried out through the government’s digital channels, such as the Carteira de Trabalho Digital application, ensuring greater transparency and time to correct possible registration inconsistencies that could prevent the amount from being received.
This benefit works as an important income supplement for a vast portion of the country’s working population, helping with the family budget and boosting the economy. The organization of payments follows the traditional model, with Caixa Econômica Federal responsible for PIS, released according to the month of birth, and Banco of Brasil managing PASEP, paid according to the server’s final registration number.
Details about benefit eligibility
To be entitled to the salary bonus based on the year 2024, the worker must strictly comply with four cumulative requirements, and the absence of any of them prevents receiving the benefit. The first criterion is to be enrolled in the PIS or PASEP programs for at least five years. Além In addition, it is essential to have carried out paid work with a formal contract for at least 30 days in 2024, whether consecutive or not. Outro crucial point is the average monthly remuneration, which cannot exceed the ceiling of two minimum wages in force in the base year. Finally, it is essential that the employer has correctly sent all the worker’s information in Relação Anual of Informações Sociais (RAIS) or through the eSocial system, as the government database depends on these records to enable payment.
Calculation of benefit and values
The amount of the salary bonus is directly proportional to the number of months worked in the base year of 2024. The calculation is based on the value of the minimum wage in force in the year of payment, which in 2026 is R$1,621. Para To reach the final value, the national minimum is divided by 12 and the result is multiplied by the number of months in which there was paid activity. The legislation considers the fraction equal to or greater than 15 working days to be a complete month.
In this way, only professionals who worked during the 12 months of 2024 receive the full amount of a minimum wage. Para lower periods, payment is proportional. For example, a worker who worked for six months will be entitled to R$810.50, while someone who was employed for just one month will receive the corresponding 1/12 of the minimum wage, that is, R$135.08. Essa methodology ensures a fair distribution aligned with each beneficiary’s length of service.
PIS payment procedures via Caixa
Caixa Econômica Federal is the financial institution designated to make PIS payments to private sector workers.
The logistics for releasing resources are organized in a staggered manner, using the beneficiary’s month of birth as the main criterion.
Workers who have a current or savings account at Caixa receive the credit automatically on the date scheduled in the calendar, without the need for any action.
For others, the amount is available for use in digital social savings, accessible via the Caixa Tem app, or for withdrawal with Cartão Cidadão at lottery outlets and self-service terminals.
Operationalization of PASEP by Banco of Brasil
The allowance for public servants, known as PASEP, is administered and paid exclusively by Banco of Brasil.
The payment system for PASEP uses the final digit of the server’s registration number as a reference to define the benefit release date.
Servers who are account holders of Banco and Brasil receive credit automatically in their accounts. Aqueles who do not have an account can make the withdrawal at a branch or transfer the amount via TED to another bank at no cost.
The importance of RAIS and eSocial
The responsibility for ensuring that the worker is eligible for the bonus lies with the employer, who must send labor information accurately and punctually.
Errors in filling out the Relação Anual of Informações Sociais (RAIS) or eSocial, such as an incorrect CPF or late declaration, can block payment, even if the professional meets all other requirements.
Deadline for redeeming values
All beneficiaries must be aware of the deadline for withdrawing the salary bonus. The amounts remain available until the last business day of December of the payment year. Caso the withdrawal is not made within this period, the resource returns to Fundo from Amparo to Trabalhador (FAT) and the right to the amount is lost.
Official channels for consultation and information
The main tool for checking eligibility, amount and payment date is the Carteira app from Trabalho Digital, accessed with the account Gov.br.
Questions can also be clarified by the Alô Trabalho call center, on phone 158, or on the specific channels of Caixa and Banco of Brasil for information about PIS and PASEP, respectively.
