Corinthians won the title from Supercopa from Brasil by beating Flamengo 2-0 in a final played this Sunday at Estádio Mané Garrincha, in Brasília. Gabriel Paulista opened the scoring in the first half and Yuri Alberto expanded in the second half, guaranteeing the victory for Timão in a match marked by expulsion for Flamengo and chances created by both sides. The game brought together the champions of Brasileirão 2025 (Flamengo) and Copa of Brasil 2025 (Corinthians), with an audience of 71,244 fans registering a record in the arena. The achievement represents Corinthians’ second title in the competition, repeating the 1991 feat.
Corinthians controlled decisive actions better despite initial pressure from Flamengo. The São Paulo team exploited counterattacks and dead balls to create opportunities, while Flamengo dominated possession of the ball at times, but suffered from a lack of effectiveness. The expulsion of Carrascal at half-time, confirmed by VAR after a shot in the face of Breno Bidon, changed the balance of the match and made it easier to maintain the black and white advantage.

Gabriel Paulista arrived with a first strike to beat the goalkeeper Rossi and open the scoring. The goal came after pressure from Corinthians in quick plays.
Flamengo responded with dangerous shots. Pedro headed the ball and hit the crossbar early on. Arrascaeta and Pulgar created chances from set pieces, but Timão’s defense kept the dangers away.
Expulsion changes the course of the match
Carrascal received a straight red card after a VAR review on the last play of the first half. The Colombian hit Breno Bidon in the face outside the ball dispute. Referee Rafael Rodrigo Klein’s decision kept the players on the pitch during the check, and Flamengo started the second half with one down.
Corinthians managed the numerical advantage. Memphis Depay and Yuri Alberto posed danger in counterattacks, with important defenses from Rossi.
Second half with pressure and goal disallowed
Flamengo sought a draw despite being at a disadvantage. Lucas Paquetá entered at the beginning of the final stage and created opportunities. In one move, he dominated in the small area after a cross, but finished over the top. Pedro and Pulgar also had blocked chances.
Yuri Alberto almost expanded on two occasions. A shot hit the post after a pass from Kaio César. Outro goal was disallowed due to offside at the origin of the play.
Yuri Alberto decides in stoppage time
In the 52nd minute of the second half, Corinthians expanded. Kaio César played to Yuri Alberto in a quick counterattack. The striker took off at speed, gave Rossi a beautiful hat and finished without a goalkeeper into the net. The goal sealed the black and white title.
Flamengo had the last chance in stoppage time, with Paquetá shooting over from Ayrton Lucas’s cross. Corinthians held the result until the final whistle.
Individual highlights and record attendance
Yuri Alberto was decisive with the title goal and participation in dangerous moves. Gabriel Paulista scored the first and contributed to the defense. No Flamengo, Rossi made important saves and Paquetá debuted with creation, but without achieving a draw.
The audience of 71,244 fans surpassed previous records in Mané Garrincha, reflecting the interest in the national classic.
Tactics and substitutions influence the game
Dorival Júnior adjusted the Corinthians with inputs from Garro, Filipe Luís traded pieces on Flamengo, including Paquetá, Ayrton Lucas and Bruno Henrique, looking for a reaction, but the expulsion limited the options.
The title reinforces the good moment of Corinthians in recent decisions and opens the 2026 season with a national victory.
