Microsoft officially announced the first major catalog update for the Xbox Game Pass service this February, bringing a robust selection that promises to please different player profiles. The company confirmed the inclusion of major titles awaited by the community, reinforcing its strategy of making major releases available directly on the subscription service. The list includes everything from fantasy and science fiction RPGs to cutting-edge sports simulators, consolidating the beginning of the year as a strong period for the company’s gaming platform.

Among the main highlights are productions from renowned studios that arrive to add immediate value to users’ libraries on consoles, computers and the cloud. The editorial movement of the Xbox brand demonstrates a continuous effort to maintain the rotation and freshness of the service, ensuring that subscribers have access to premium experiences without additional costs beyond the monthly fee. The diversity of genres presented this fortnight covers action, adventure and strategy, with entry dates staggered over the coming weeks.

Large productions arrive on service in the second fortnight

February 17th marks a crucial moment in the service’s calendar with the simultaneous arrival of two industry giants. The first of these is Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, developed by Ubisoft in collaboration with Lightstorm Entertainment. The title allows players to explore an unprecedented western frontier in the Pandora universe, taking on the role of a Na’vi on a journey of reconnection with their origins and fight against the militarized forces of the GDR. The first-person experience focuses on immersion and utilizing natural and technological abilities to combat threats in a vibrant and responsive open world.

On the same date, Western RPG fans will be able to enjoy Avowed, the new offering from Obsidian Entertainment. Ambientado in the same universe as the acclaimed series Pillars of Eternity, the game transports users to Terras Vivas, a wild island full of mysteries. The game promises to offer a flexible combat system that mixes magic, swords and firearms, allowing each player to shape their play style while investigating a spiritual plague that threatens the region. The branching narrative, characteristic of the studio, places the weight of decisions in the hands of the protagonist.

Exclusive premiere of High on Life 2 and medieval classics

Before the big launches on the 17th, the service receives on February 13th the sequel to one of the platform’s biggest recent hits. High on Life 2 arrives as a day one release, bringing back the acid humor and frenetic gameplay that marked the original title. The sequel expands the sci-fi comic universe, introducing new talking weapons with distinct personalities and a new intergalactic villain who promises to challenge bounty hunters in even more absurd and colorful scenarios.

Also on the 13th, the acclaimed Kingdom Come Deliverance joins the catalogue, offering an alternative for those looking for historical realism. The open-world action RPG dispenses with fantasy elements to focus on a faithful recreation of medieval Boêmia. Players take on the role of Henry, the son of a blacksmith, who finds himself embroiled in a civil war after his village is invaded. The title is known for its challenging combat mechanics and a reputation system where the player’s actions directly influence how the world reacts to their presence.

Sports and options for children

The beginning of the month already has relevant additions, starting on February 5th with the arrival of Madden NFL 26. The latest edition of EA’s American football franchise Sports arrives via EA Play, available to subscribers of the Ultimate plan. The game features roster updates, improvements to impact physics and new franchise management modes, allowing sports fans to experience the season with maximum technical and visual fidelity.

For younger audiences, the same date holds the release of Paw Patrol Rescue Wheel Championship. The title based on the popular animated series places the Patrulha Canina puppies in rescue vehicles for competitions and heroic missions. It is a strategic addition that aims to serve families who use the console as a shared entertainment center, offering accessible and cooperative gameplay for parents and children.

Advantages for plan Ultimate subscribers

The February update also reinforces exclusive benefits for Ultimate level Xbox Game Pass members. Most of the announced titles come with support for Xbox Cloud Gaming, allowing games to be played via streaming on mobile devices, smart TVs and computers with more modest specifications. Essa functionality eliminates the need for heavy downloads and time-consuming installations, facilitating instant access to news.

In addition to the major releases, other independent and strategy titles such as Civilization VI and Wargroove 2 are also part of the list of new features accessible via the cloud and console. Microsoft continues to invest in server infrastructure to ensure low latency and high visual fidelity, transforming any internet-connected screen into a gateway to the Xbox ecosystem.

Catalog rotation and scheduled departures

As is standard in the service’s business model, the entry of new games implies the exit of others to maintain licensing balance. On February 15th, the title Madden NFL 24 will leave the library, making room for the latest version of the franchise. The company recommends that players who are still progressing on titles scheduled for removal take advantage of the member discount to purchase the games outright before removal.

This constant rotation encourages users to try games during their availability window and keeps the catalog dynamic. Microsoft is expected to announce the second wave of February games in the coming weeks, maintaining the rhythm of fortnightly updates that characterizes Game Pass’s content management.
