The Stellantis prepares the launch of the 2027 Jeep Renegade line for April, with the main novelty being the introduction of a 48-volt mild hybrid version in various configurations of the compact SUV. The model maintains the 176 hp 1.3 turbo flex engine and six-speed automatic transmission, but gains a system that helps reduce consumption and emissions. Production takes place at the Goiana factory, in Pernambuco, where the vehicle has already accumulated significant sales volumes since its inception in the country.

Visual updates include a renewed front grille, redesigned bumpers, newly designed wheels and rear lights with updated graphics, as well as subtle adjustments to the headlights. Essas changes aim to refresh the look without drastically altering the Renegade’s recognized style. The interior receives elements inspired by the Compass, such as the 10.1-inch multimedia center with better projection and expanded functions.

The 48V mild hybrid system, called Bio-Hybrid by Stellantis, combines the combustion engine with an electric engine of around 28 hp and 5.6 kgfm integrated into the gearbox, in addition to a belt generator that replaces the traditional alternator. Essa configuration allows for smoother starts, efficient start-stop operation and acceleration support, with an expected reduction of up to 10% in fuel consumption in urban and highway conditions.

Mechanical updates and versions available

The 2027 line maintains five main finishing options. The Altitude, Longitude and Sahara versions incorporate the 48V hybrid system for greater efficiency. The Sport configuration continues only with the 1.3 turbo engine without electrification. The Willys variant preserves the 4×4 focus with a nine-speed automatic transmission and without hybrid assistance, prioritizing off-road performance.

The T270 flex engine delivers 176 hp and 27.5 kgfm of torque, compatible with gasoline and ethanol. The adoption of the mild hybrid does not change the vehicle’s main architecture, but improves response at low rpm and reduces average consumption. Testes on camouflaged mules have already roamed the Brazilian streets, confirming the final changes before the premiere.

Production and market positioning

Manufacturing of the Renegade 2027 has already started in the Goiana industrial complex, with units stored for national distribution. The SUV maintains a monthly average of around 4 thousand registrations in 2025, consolidating itself as one of the leaders in the compact segment in the Brasil.

The arrival of the hybrid occurs at a strategic moment, with Stellantis expanding the offer of low-emission technologies in the country. The Renegade 2027 is positioned between the future Avenger, scheduled for the first half of the year, and models such as the Compass, gaining ground in intermediate price and equipment ranges.

Mild hybrid system details

The Bio-Hybrid 48V operates without the need for external recharging, using energy recovered from braking to recharge the small battery. The electric motor assists the main engine when accelerating and keeps accessory systems running when the engine is off. The Essa approach guarantees real efficiency gains without compromising the known drivability of the Renegade.

Retaining the conventional six-speed automatic transmission limits extreme savings gains compared to dual-clutch systems, but preserves costs and reliability. The focus remains on reducing emissions and meeting increasing environmental standards.

Interior changes and connectivity

The 10.1-inch floating multimedia center stands out as one of its strong points, offering an intuitive interface, high-quality projection and advanced integration with smartphones. Painel and controls receive updates inspired by the Compass, raising the standard of finishing and ergonomics in the Renegade.

These improvements meet the demand for greater technology in compact SUVs. The interior space and trunk remain adequate for the size of the vehicle, with specific adjustments for comfort.

Jeep strategy on Brasil

The introduction of the mild hybrid reinforces Jeep’s commitment to gradual electrification in the South American market. The Renegade continues to be a sales pillar, with more than 700,000 units produced locally since 2015. The 2027 update extends its competitiveness ahead of a possible new generation.

The launch in April allows dealerships to prepare stocks and campaigns. Consumidores await competitive prices, influenced by growing competition in the segment.
