With the result, the aggregate was 5-3 in favor of the Portuguese (after the 3-0 defeat in the first leg, in Noruega), guaranteeing classification for the quarter-finals.
Sporting achieved a historic turnaround. The goals came with Gonçalo Inácio in the 34th minute (corner header), Pedro Gonçalves in the 61st minute (after a pass from Luis Suárez), Extra time was decisive for Leo’s dominance, as they pressed intensely and exploited their opponent’s defensive flaws.
Bodø/Glimt, who surprised in the first match, were unable to react in the second half and throughout the game. The Norwegian team suffered from the Portuguese intensity and had few real chances to score after the break.
