The BYD Song Plus 2027 line arrives at Brazilian dealerships with significant updates to the plug-in hybrid set. The medium SUV, one of the brand’s best-selling models in the country, features a 1.5 turbo gasoline engine in all versions, a larger capacity battery and support for rapid direct current recharging. Essas changes directly meet the demands of owners, especially with regard to battery recharge time. The range in 100% electric mode now reaches 99 km, according to the Programa Brasileiro of Etiquetagem Veicular (PBEV) of the Inmetro.

The model maintains its previous dimensions, measuring 4.77 meters long, 1.89 meters wide, 1.67 meters high and with a wheelbase of 2.76 meters. The trunk continues to have 552 liters of capacity. The arrival occurs before the start of national production in Camaçari, in Bahia, scheduled for the coming months. The vehicle is still imported from China, where it has already been replaced by another version on the local market.

New hybrid package and improved performance

The DM-i hybrid system evolved with the inclusion of the 1.5 turbo engine, which delivers 130 hp and works in conjunction with the electric drive. Combined power reaches 239 hp in conventional configuration, allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds. In the Premium version, the package offers all-wheel drive and 324 hp in total.

The fireproof Blade battery increased from 18.3 kWh to 26.6 kWh capacity. Essa expansion results in a 57% gain in electric autonomy compared to the previous model. The combined range, considering the NEDC cycle, can exceed 1,150 km with a full tank and charged battery.

Quick recharge solves owners’ main complaint

The new charging stand allows up to 18 kW at direct current (DC) stations. As a result, the battery is completely recharged in around 55 minutes under ideal conditions, representing a significant reduction compared to the more than three hours previously required. Proprietários without a residential wallbox, they are more practical for recharging in shopping malls or public stations.

The model accepts alternating current (AC) recharging and is compatible with common sockets. Essa update makes daily use more convenient for those who depend on electric mode on urban journeys.

Standard equipment and premium package

The standard package includes six airbags, keyless entry and starting, leather seats with electrical adjustment for the driver, full LED headlights with automatic ignition, panoramic sunroof and a 15.6-inch multimedia center with floating screen. The digital dashboard is 12.3 inches, and there is an electric trunk opening, electronic parking brake and 360° cameras.

The ADAS assistant system features automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and other safety features. The air conditioning is digital two-zone, and there is a driving mode selector to adapt the vehicle’s behavior.

Updated interior and trim options

The interior gained a black color option as an alternative to the standard, reinforcing the premium appeal. The multimedia center received native integration with Google services, improving connectivity and usability. The adjustments maintain the focus on comfort for families, with good space for passengers in the rear seats.

Versions and market positioning

The conventional version starts at R$249,990, maintaining the same value despite the improvements implemented. The Premium configuration, with all-wheel drive and more power, has a higher price. The Song Plus continues to compete in the plug-in hybrid medium SUV segment, where efficiency and electric range are decisive factors for consumers.

The model reinforces BYD’s strategy of offering affordable and practical electrified vehicles in the Brasil. The updates aim to expand the adoption of the plug-in hybrid in mixed urban and highway use.
