The Japanese manufacturer Honda has officially announced the arrival of the new generation of its main medium-displacement motorcycle to the Brazilian market. The updated model focuses on attracting both beginner motorcyclists and experienced riders looking for a versatile option for urban traffic and short trips. The automaker’s strategy involves combining a reliable mechanical package with significant aesthetic updates.
With a suggested starting value of R$24,657, the motorcycle is strategically positioned in one of the most sought after segments in the country. The line’s sales history, which has already surpassed the mark of 140 thousand units sold in recent years, demonstrates the strong acceptance by the national public. The new version seeks to maintain this leadership through specific improvements in security and connectivity.
Dealers across the country have already started receiving the first batches of the vehicle, which now has new color options and redesigned graphics. The brand’s central proposal is to offer a means of transport that combines low daily maintenance costs with a look that resembles the manufacturer’s own high-displacement motorcycles.
Aggressive design and inspiration from the Neo Sports Café line
The visual identity of the new motorcycle was entirely conceived under the Neo Sports Café philosophy, a design language that the automaker applies to its global premium models. The fairing lines have been redesigned to provide a more robust and muscular appearance, especially in the fuel tank area, which now features pronounced side fins. Essas modifications not only have an aesthetic function, but also help with aerodynamics and directing the air flow to cool the engine during highway travel.
The optical assembly received special attention from the engineering team, adopting full LED lighting in the main headlight, directional arrows and taillight. Essa technological choice guarantees superior visibility during night driving and reduces battery energy consumption. The split-shaped seat, positioned 789 millimeters from the ground, was designed to comfortably accommodate the rider and pillion, making it easier for people of different heights to rest their feet on the ground.
Efficient motorization guarantees performance in daily use
The engine that equips the model is a 293.5 cubic centimeter single-cylinder, equipped with a simple overhead control and an air cooling system. Dual-fuel technology allows the engine to deliver 24.7 horsepower at 7,500 revolutions per minute when fueled with ethanol, and 24.5 horsepower with gasoline. Maximum torque reaches 2.67 kgfm at 5,500 revolutions per minute, providing vigorous starts and safe speed recovery in traffic in large cities.
The six-speed manual transmission works in conjunction with an assist and slipper clutch, a feature inherited from higher categories. Esse mechanism reduces the effort required to operate the left lever and prevents the rear wheel from locking during abrupt downshifts. The combination of this gearbox with the optimized engine results in smooth and linear operation in different speed ranges.
In terms of energy efficiency, factory tests indicate an average consumption of up to 28 kilometers per liter when the vehicle is filled with gasoline. With a fuel tank with a capacity of 14.1 liters, the estimated autonomy exceeds 350 kilometers, making the motorcycle a viable option for those who undertake long daily journeys. The maximum projected speed is around 160 kilometers per hour, suitable for road use within legal limits.
Embedded technology and safety systems for the pilot
The digital instrument panel with blackout technology is one of the main technological attractions of the new generation. The liquid crystal screen displays essential information in high contrast, including speedometer, tachometer, gear engaged indicator, clock, fuel gauge and on-board computer data such as instantaneous and average consumption. The interface was designed to allow quick reading, preventing the rider from taking his attention off the road for a long time.
To meet the connectivity demands of contemporary consumers, the manufacturer installed a USB-C port next to the handlebars. Esse feature eliminates the need for parallel electrical adaptations for charging smartphones and GPS navigation devices, ensuring the integrity of the original wiring harness. The knife-shaped ignition key, with integrated locking system, adds an extra layer of protection against theft.
The cycling structure is based on an Diamond type tubular steel chassis, which uses the engine itself as an integral part of the support, resulting in a dry weight of just 139 kilos. The suspension system consists of a front telescopic fork with 130 millimeters of travel and a rear monoshock shock absorber with 120 millimeters of travel. Essa configuration was calibrated to absorb the imperfections of Brazilian asphalt without compromising stability in high-speed curves.
Safety during braking is guaranteed by discs on both wheels, measuring 276 millimeters at the front and 220 millimeters at the rear. The consumer can choose between two assistance configurations: the combined system, which distributes braking force between the axles mechanically, or the two-channel anti-lock system. The second option monitors wheel rotation using electronic sensors, preventing tire slippage in emergency situations or on low-grip surfaces.
Price positioning and appreciation in the national market
The pricing policy established by the automaker divides the model into two distinct ranges, based on the level of braking assistance chosen by the customer. The entry-level version, equipped with combined brakes, hits stores with a suggested price of R$24,657 and is available in metallic red and metallic gray. Já a configuração topo de linha, que incorpora o sistema antitravamento eletrônico, é comercializada por R$ 25.637, oferecendo a exclusiva cor azul perolizado, além do vermelho metálico. Esses values represent a slight adjustment compared to previous years, justified by the introduction of new components and inflation in the auto parts sector.
One factor that attracts buyers is the model’s strong value retention in the pre-owned market, evidenced by the automotive sector’s benchmark indices. Levantamentos recent studies indicate that units with little use time are valued at R$28,590, demonstrating unusual liquidity for the category. The three-year factory warranty, with no mileage limit, combined with the 24-hour assistance program and free oil supply during scheduled inspections, reinforces the perception of a safe investment on the part of consumers who plan to change their vehicle in the medium term.
Tough competition in the naked motorcycle segment in the country
The Brazilian market for medium-displacement motorcycles without front fairings has become one of the most intense battlegrounds for Asian manufacturers operating in the country. Honda’s new bet needs to face established rivals that offer very different mechanical proposals and equipment packages. Entre The main direct competitors is the representative of the Yamaha, which costs around R$ 23,990 and delivers 21.5 horsepower, standing out for the robustness of its two-valve engine. Simultaneamente, emerging brands on the national scene, such as the Indian Bajaj, are aggressive with prices, offering models in the range of R$18,000 to R$19,000 with liquid cooling and 24.5 horsepower. Há also indirect competition from used twin-cylinder motorcycles, which attract buyers willing to spend similar amounts in exchange for greater road performance, although they require significantly higher maintenance costs. Nesse scenario of multiple options, the market leader’s strategy is based on the capillarity of its dealership network, which covers practically all Brazilian municipalities, ensuring ease in acquiring spare parts and qualified workshop services. The versatility of the project, which serves everyone from application delivery people who need agility to corporate professionals looking to escape traffic jams, consolidates the model as a rational choice within a segment where emotion often dictates purchasing rules.
Impact on urban mobility and current consumer profile
The technical evolution of urban motorcycles reflects a change in society’s behavior in relation to daily travel. With rising fuel costs and the saturation of public roads, two-wheeled vehicles that offer high energy efficiency and on-board technology are no longer seen solely as leisure alternatives. The profile of today’s buyer demands products that deliver mechanical reliability, low financial impact on maintenance and features that make routine life easier, transforming medium-displacement models into essential tools for the dynamics of large Brazilian metropolises.
