BYD presented the Dolphin 2027 line in Brasil with the inclusion of version Special Edition as an intermediate option in the electric hatch range. The model arrives positioned between the GS and Plus configurations, with a suggested price of R$159,990. The changes are mainly concentrated on Special Edition, which receives updates to the external design, more powerful engine and battery adjustments.
The GS and Plus versions continue to be available without significant changes to the appearance or main mechanics. The GS starts at R$149,990 and the Plus starts at R$184,800. The arrival of the Special Edition seeks to fill a gap in the brand’s offering in a segment that is gaining competitors such as the Geely EX2, already on sale, and the future MG4 Urban and GAC Aion UT.

The Special Edition adopts the front electric motor that delivers 177 hp of power and 29.5 kgfm of torque. The Blade battery capacity of the Special Edition has increased to 45.12 kWh, compared to 44.9 kWh of the GS. The autonomy declared by the automaker reaches up to 405 km in the NEDC cycle. Fast recharging with direct current of up to 80 kW allows recovery from 30% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes.
