Chinese manufacturer Nubia has confirmed the global launch date of its latest smartphone aimed at gamers, the RedMagic 11 Air. The device, which had already been presented in the Asian market, arrives on the international scene on January 29th, with the official broadcast scheduled for 7am at the time of Brasília. The device draws the attention of the technology sector for combining specifications of very high performance with a battery of unusual capacity for the category. The company’s strategy aims to consolidate its presence in a highly competitive segment, competing for the preference of professional gamers and hardware enthusiasts. The announcement will be made through the brand’s social networks, expanding the digital reach of the presentation to consumers on different continents.

Processing architecture and graphics performance

The processing core of the new cell phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, developed by Qualcomm. Este component represents the most advanced level of the semiconductor manufacturer, specifically designed to handle high frame rates and complex graphics without experiencing drops in performance. The processor architecture allows for more efficient thermal management, an essential factor for devices that run heavy applications for long continuous periods.

To support the main processor, Nubia engineering integrated a proprietary chip called RedCore R4. The primary function of this coprocessor is to lighten the load on the Snapdragon by taking on secondary tasks such as processing three-dimensional audio, haptic feedback from the vibration motor, and managing the device’s lighting effects. Essa division of tasks creates an optimized hardware ecosystem, ensuring that the main processor dedicates its maximum capacity to game rendering and system fluidity.

In terms of memory, the equipment will be sold in variants that offer 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM in LPDDR5X technology, the fastest and most energy efficient currently available for mobile devices. Internal storage uses the UFS 4.1 standard, with options of 256 GB or 512 GB. Essa configuration guarantees read and write speeds capable of drastically reducing the loading times of virtual scenarios, in addition to facilitating the handling of heavy files, such as videos recorded in 4K resolution and image editing applications that require high memory bandwidth.

Energy capacity and charging system

One of the main technical differences of the RedMagic 11 Air lies in its battery module, which delivers a total capacity of 7000 mAh. In the current smartphone market, the average capacity usually hovers around the 5000 mAh range, which makes the launch of the Nubia an outlier in the mobile industry. Essa extended power reserve was designed to support continuous hours of multimedia consumption and running heavy games without the need to connect to an outlet, meeting one of the biggest demands of intensive users.

To compensate for the massive size of the battery, the manufacturer implemented an ultra-fast charging system with a power of 120 watts. Essa technology allows the energy tank to be refilled in a few minutes, minimizing the time the user needs to keep the device connected to the power cable. The combination of high capacity and fast recharging solves a historical bottleneck faced by players on mobile platforms, who often have to interrupt their activities due to lack of energy.

Uninterrupted display and connectivity features

The front design of the device is marked by a 6.85-inch OLED panel, which delivers a resolution of 2688 by 1216 pixels. The screen has a refresh rate of 144 Hz, a specification that guarantees extremely fluid image transitions, giving a competitive advantage in fast action games where reaction time is essential. To keep the screen completely free of cutouts or holes, the company positioned the 16-megapixel front camera under the display, using pixel transparency technology that hides the sensor when it is not in use.

The physical structure of the phone measures 163.8 millimeters high by 76.5 millimeters wide, with a thickness of just 7.8 millimeters, weighing 207 grams. Manter such a thin profile housing a 7000 mAh battery required a complete internal redesign of the components, including the implementation of an advanced passive cooling system with vapor chambers and graphene layers to dissipate heat. Nas sides, the device houses capacitive triggers that function as additional buttons during matches, simulating the ergonomics of a traditional video game controller and offering a tactical advantage in shooting and racing games.

The smartphone’s connectivity package and additional features are structured to meet the demands of high-speed, low-latency connections. The manufacturer included the following hardware components to ensure device communication:

  • Full support for 5G networks for online games without connection delays and fast downloads.
  • Wi-Fi 7 module, ensuring today’s highest wireless data transfer rate.
  • Bluetooth 5.4 connection for stable pairing with headphones and external controls.
  • NFC sensor for contactless payments and quick file transfer between devices.
  • Infrared emitter, allowing the cell phone to function as a universal remote control for electronics.

Operating system and market prospects

The software’s operation is based on the Android 16 operating system, modified by the proprietary RedMagic OS 11 interface. Esta customization layer adds exclusive control panels for games, allowing the user to monitor the processor temperature, adjust the sensitivity of screen touches and block notifications during games. The software also intelligently manages hardware performance, allocating more processing resources and memory to applications that are in the foreground.

Regarding availability in the Brazilian market, the manufacturer has not yet released a specific date for the start of official sales in the country. However, the brand’s history points to a positive scenario, as previous generations of the RedMagic line were formally marketed under Brasil after going through the approval processes of Agência Nacional and Telecomunicações. The national audience represents a significant portion of the global mobile games market, which justifies the continued interest of Asian companies in establishing sales, distribution and technical support operations in the region to meet this growing demand.

The introduction of this new model raises the bar for the high-performance cell phone segment in 2026. By integrating cutting-edge processing, long battery life and a screen without visual interruptions, Nubia is putting pressure on competing companies to review their own gaming-focused product lines. The movement demonstrates that the smartphone niche for gamers continues to expand, driven by consumers willing to invest in equipment that offers technical specifications far superior to conventional models for daily use.
