Severe storms hit southeast Wisconsin with tornado, flash flood warnings

Severe Tempestades with high winds, hail and risk of tornadoes began to hit southeast of Wisconsin Friday afternoon and evening. Serviço Nacional of Meteorologia has issued multiple tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings for several counties. Heavy Chuvas add to soil already saturated after nearly 18 centimeters of precipitation in the last week.

Conditions favor flash flooding in the region. Autoridades recommend that residents avoid areas with accumulated water and follow safety guidelines.

Tornado Alertas hits specific counties

A tornado warning remained in effect until 10pm for Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Walworth, Washington and Waukesha counties. Outros alerts were issued and expired throughout the afternoon.

Meteorology Equipes monitored the storms’ movement from west to east. Sirenes sounded in some locations as the threats approached. Moradores reported debris flying through the air near Delavan.

Interrupções power and roads affected

We Energies reported more than 1,143 outages in Racine’s county and 545 in Walworth’s county as of 8:16 p.m. Equipes from the concessionaire acted to restore the supply.
