The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will host the qualifying stage of the Formula 1 Barcelona Grand Prix this Saturday (13), starting at 11am (Brasília time). On this day, competitors will seek the best positions for Sunday’s main race, a crucial moment for the teams’ strategies and the cars’ performance on one of the most challenging tracks on the calendar.

Circuit characteristics and impact on car performance

With 4,657 kilometers long, the Barcelona route is known for its high technical demands. The track combines high, medium and low speed curves, demanding high downforce and power from single-seaters. Due to these characteristics, the location is often used as a reference laboratory to evaluate the real capacity and performance of vehicles throughout the season.

Legacies and historical records on the Spanish route

Since 1991 on the Formula 1 calendar, the Catalan circuit has been home to impressive marks from big names in the sport. Michael Schumacher leads with seven pole positions achieved, closely followed by Lewis Hamilton, who recorded one less. Both seven-time champions also share the record for victories on the track, totaling six each. The last pole position was by Oscar Piastri in the 2025 edition, with a time of 1min11s546.

Where to follow Brazilian qualification and participation

Brazilian fans will be able to follow the qualification and the entire weekend schedule through various platforms.
