Hubble Telescope captures galaxy NGC 4485 with traces of past gravitational collision

Ponte of material connects the two galaxies
NGC 4485 and NGC 4490 form the pair cataloged as Arp 269 in Atlas of Galáxias Peculiares. The catalog was organized by astronomer Halton Arp in 1966. The gas bridge between them highlights the history of interaction.
