Webb Telescope detects signals from the Universe’s first stars
Telescópio Espacial James Webb has identified a strong emission of ionized helium near the galaxy GN-z11. The source, called Hebe, is about 3,000 parsecs from the center of the galaxy and shows no trace of heavy elements. The surrounding gas did not have time to enrich itself with metals ejected by previous generations. Essa chemical purity maintains the conditions expected for Population III. The stars were hot, with up to 100,000 degrees on the surface, and produced large amounts of ultraviolet radiation.

Outro recent paper, led by Devesh Nandal, examines supermassive stars as progenitors. Elas could collapse and form massive black hole seeds. The process involves mass loss in pulsating episodes after the end of the initial gas accretion.
