Fátima Bernardes and daughter Beatriz launch videocast together on YouTube

Presenter Fátima Bernardes and her daughter Beatriz Bonemer debut together in a new audiovisual project. The Cá Entre Nós videocast arrives on YouTube on May 7th, marking the first time that mother and daughter run an attraction together.

The idea came up unexpectedly. Beatriz says that she was invited thinking about contributing to the project as a designer, an area in which she graduated. Quando understood that she would be a presenter alongside her mother, she was surprised. “At first, I was like: ‘Huh?’. Depois immediately agreed, I thought the proposal was really cool”, he revealed in an interview with the newspaper O Globo.

The format of the program

The program will have six episodes lasting approximately 45 minutes each, released weekly. The proposal works as a relaxed conversation between mother, daughter and guests, different from the traditional interview format. Themes explored include:

• Maternidade and relationships
• Autoestima and well-being
• Choque generational
• Vivências personal and professional

The language is purposefully natural and close to the digital audience. “More like a conversation between mother, daughter and a guest, and not so much an interview”, explained Beatriz about the videocast proposal.

The surprise of working together

Fátima has always supported the professional choices of his children, who chose different careers than their parents. Nenhum of them followed journalism, and the presenter celebrates this. “Everyone asked me about them not making Jornalismo. Fiquei happy for everyone to go their own way. But of course I’m also very happy to do something like this, which I had never thought of,” he said.

The dynamic between the two behind the scenes already reflects this creative partnership. Beatriz consults with his mother on the questions and topics he prepares for the episodes, seeking her feedback. Fátima also has fun watching her daughter in a different environment than usual. “It’s cool to see Beatriz working somewhere else, and not on the computer all the time, doing things related to her area”, he commented.

Evolução of the mother-son relationship

The relationship between the two has changed a lot over the years. One of the turning points was when Beatriz decided to live alone, after her brothers left their mother’s house. “Of course, separation is not something you want or expect,” pondered Fátima, recalling the impact of the divorce with William Bonner.

Beatriz was looking for autonomy at that time. “When I was alone, I was already suffocated (laughs). Queria was going through some of the troubles of adult life,” she admitted. The changes happened quickly and had a positive impact on family relationships. Hoje, mother and daughter maintain a close relationship even though they live separately.

The designer believes that the videocast experience can further strengthen this bond. “I think my mother and I will end up getting to know each other more because of some topics”, highlighted Beatriz. Fátima found a dynamic that works for both of them on a daily basis, including curious details such as “shared custody of the dogs”, as she joked in an interview.
