The race is scheduled for 5pm according to Brasília time this Sunday. Meteorologistas indicate that the most intense rains will arrive in the early local afternoon, creating a short window of opportunity for the start.

The FIA evaluates other options besides the advance. Atrasos and temporary suspensions of the race are being discussed by the category’s technical commissioners.

Histórico of deferrals in Miami

The urban circuit faced interruptions due to weather reasons in previous seasons. Restrictions on lightning within an 8-mile radius make Miami particularly sensitive to tropical storm systems.

Cada minute wait can mean the difference between completing the race on time or seeing red flags stop the action. Equipes and pilots are already working on alternative timing and fuel strategy scenarios.

Cenários under evaluation by the FIA

The early change would gain different broadcast times in several regions. Redes television stations in European countries would face schedule conflicts if the start moves to the morning or mid-afternoon earlier.

Adiantar starting within two hours resolves most of the predicted meteorological risks. Especialistas has been monitoring hourly satellite updates since Monday.

Atrasar the race for Monday is not in the FIA’s plans at this time. The category maintains a tight calendar with other commitments already scheduled.

  • Original Horário: 5pm (Brasília)
  • Horário possible in advance: until 2pm or 3pm (Brasília)
  • Lightning risk Zona: 13 kilometers in perimeter
  • Intervalo critical between lightning and thunder: 30 seconds
  • Duração mandatory pause if lightning detected: 30 minutes

Preparativos from Teams for Change

The pits on Monday carried out fuel studies for three different scenarios. Racing Estrategistas calculates how many laps are possible with reduced range if the track becomes wet.

Pneus in the rain are already separated and tested in the first free practice sessions. Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari expressed their willingness to adjust hydraulic systems if necessary in record time.

Pilotos will receive technical briefing on Sunday morning with confirmed times. Radio communication between engineers and the cabin will need to be agile if changes occur less than two hours in advance.

Global Transmissão affected by change

Emissoras at Europa face the challenge of repositioning the schedule in prime time if the test starts earlier than expected. Asiático and American would get a better slot depending on the advance.

Fórmula 1 will inform any changes late on Friday to give international producers time. Espectadores will receive notification via the official app at least 24 hours in advance.
