Samsung confirms Galaxy models that will receive One UI 9 in the first wave
Samsung has officially released the list of models that will receive One UI 9 in the first quarter of 2025. The update brings Android 15 as a base and implements new features focused on artificial intelligence and productivity. The rollout will begin with high-end models, including the Galaxy S24 and Z series.
The company confirmed the distribution priority in a statement aimed at operators and chip manufacturers. Older Dispositivos enter the update schedule from the second quarter of the year.
Samsung set update scaling per generation
The Galaxy S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra models receive One UI 9 within the first two weeks after the official launch. Também includes the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 folders in the initial phase, in addition to the Galaxy Tab S10 series. The company justified the prioritization by processing power and full compatibility with new AI algorithms.
Flagships from the S23 series goes into distribution at the end of January. Modelos Intermediates Galaxy A of the current generation receive the update in February. Dispositivos with three years or more in circulation are in line for March.
Mudanças on the interface and new features
One UI 9 reorganizes the home screen with adaptive widgets that adjust size according to the content. The AI assistant now integrates image search into the Google Lens directly from the keyboard. Notificações gains automatic prioritization by context — urgent calls and messages appear above advertising and app notifications.
Câmera receives improvements in night mode and video stabilization. The battery reports a more accurate estimate of how long it will last before completely discharging. Segurança grows with native biometric authentication across more system applications.
Requisitos technical and compatibility guaranteed
Samsung confirmed that all eligible models have a minimum of 4 GB RAM and an Snapdragon 888 onwards or Exynos 2100 equivalent generation processor. The required storage is 2.5 GB free.
Donos of Galaxy with Android 12 or higher can perform the update without resetting the device. Configurações biometric security, password and pattern are maintained. Installed Apps continue to work, except those that use the API discontinued in Android 15.

Operadoras confirm implementation schedule
Claro, Vivo, TIM and Oi received internal notification to begin testing on update servers. Segundo schedule shared with retail chains, availability in own store of Samsung occurs one week after operator rollout.
Gerentes technical support staff have been trained to guide customers on mandatory backup before installation. Período testing with limited groups of users begins in mid-January on São Paulo, Rio, Janeiro, and Brasília.

Abra Configurações → Sobre the phone → Informações software. Verifique model number and release date. Modelos ending in “U”, “BR” or “XX” receive update first — carrier-specific versions enter second wave.
Usuários can activate automatic update notification in Configurações → Atualização software → Atualização. Download happens in the background when the phone is charging and connected to the Wi-Fi.
