Cassie and Nate finally walked down the aisle in an extravagant wedding, with flowers valued at $50,000 and the whole gang together. The event, however, reflected the chaos that characterizes the characters’ relationships: uncontrolled, dramatic and ending in blood and mutilation. Nate lost a toe during the celebrations. Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi star in this sequence that marks the first steps of a season different from the previous ones, focused on characters with a more adult appearance.

Rue in new role, five years later

The narrative moves forward five years after the events of the second season. Rue, played by Zendaya, now works as an indentured servant for drug dealer Laurie. Durante one of her tasks for her boss Alamo, an unexpected encounter puts her situation at risk: a man she believes to be a police officer reveals himself to be an Administração agent from Repressão to Drogas (DEA). The series maintains dramatic intensity by exploring the consequences of the characters’ choices in their adult lives, with each one facing realities that are very different from those they experienced as a teenager.

Crítica points to a darker tone on his return

USA TODAY TV critic Kelly Lawler rated the new season two out of four stars, pointing out structural changes to the series. Segundo his analysis, “there is less passion and verve in the show, even in its more questionable moments”. Lawler added: “The fire went out, the recreational drugs ran out and the lights came on in the club.” The return of Euphoria takes place in a completely different context from the original, in which Sydney Sweeney, Zendaya and Jacob Elordi established themselves as top stars, bigger than the series itself. The world has changed, the stars have changed and Euphoria reflects this transformation.
