Pixar denies Toy Story 5 rating rumor

Quarenta Years after the first film in the series, the most famous toys in cinema have a new chapter. The rumor about a possible age restriction circulated last week.

Pixar denied the information. Lindsey Collins, the film’s executive producer, stated that the studio has not yet received any rating for Toy Story 5. The film hits theaters on June 19, 2026.

Lindsey Collins was in the country to promote the film. In an interview with the website Omelete, she was direct.

“We have not received classification yet. Foi is a story that has spread, but it is not true”, declared the producer.

Initial information indicated that the film would have received a PG rating in Estados Unidos. Isso would be equivalent, in Brasil, to a recommendation for people over 10 years old or 6 years old, unlike the four previous films, all with free nominations. Collins ruled out that the classification already exists.

The studio maintains secrecy regarding technical details of the production. The animation remains in the final stages of completion.

Enredo brings Jessie as a central figure in the plot

The new film picks up the story of Bonnie’s toys. Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the rest of the group face a different challenge. A children’s tablet called LilyPad starts vying for the girl’s attention.

Jessie gains greater prominence. The cowgirl, voiced by Joan Cusack in the original, leads the toys into Bonnie’s room alongside Buzz. The narrative explores the contrast between traditional toys and the technology that attracts today’s children.

Andrew Stanton directs the film, co-directed by Kenna Harris. Lindsey Collins signs production. Randy Newman returns to compose the soundtrack. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen reprise the roles of Woody and Buzz.
